Planetpals is proud to announce the winners of this years Earthday Video contest 2009 with the theme "I am a Planetpal, because".

How hard it was to make a decision for our panel of judges. We were thrilled with all the entries and feel that all the teachers, parents and kids, who sent in entries are all winners, because they are Planetpals and understand that they can take part in making a better world!
This contest just shows that the concept of being" Planetpals™" works. It also exhibits the variety of age groups and classrooms all over the world that are taking environmental education seriously.

First Place, The Castle Square Technical School. Who's students created their very own video in their technical after school program. The judges were quite impressed with all the small touches using Planetpals throughout the school and the recycling program implemented in the school.
Second Place: Submitted by Stripes Elementary, Irving Texas. This entry warmed our hearts. According to Mrs. Keller at Stripes "I teach children with autism. I have 6 students. Most of my students are non-verbal or have few verbal skills. For the voice in the video some of my students used an augmentative communication device to speak. The recording is shaky, but that is because my students are making it."
Third Place: This entry was submitted by the art teacher Erin Norton. Created by the 23rd and 4th grade teachers of Ealy Elementary in West Bloomfield Public School District, MI. We loved the artwork done by the students and their use of Planetpals recycle symbol download. This was very artistic and well done.
Fourth Place: The Freshman Earth Science Class at Teacher Prep School in Phoenix, Arizona. Teacher Prep High School @ Phoenix College, a 9-12 school which targets high school students who want to become teacher or want to attend college. Students take college classes while in high school. This video is done at the Grand Canyon National Park In Arizona. Great message and one close to our hearts "We are Planetpals because we take care of the National Park".
Lastly we give a special honorable mention to Brenden, Andrew and Christopher of Canton MA, who are grandsons of Planetpals Creator ,Judith Gorgone, and have grown up learning to be Planetpals. Their video is fun and an example of how all children, all ages understand the concept, too.
Congratulations all. We know these kids will pass on the valuable lessons they learned to their friends, family and the next generation.
