What's Missing on my Blog Page

Rate: 5 Flag

Just about everything by now but that's o.k. by me (sort of).  Simple living, you know, and all that?

But I do want to explain &/or apologise: No lovely visuals.  Ain't got the know-how.  Also to my friends some of whom have begged me to "alert" them if/when I post.  "Ain't got the know-how".  It's not that I have an outrageously low IQ (or at least didn't, once upon a time) it's that I'm OLD.   And though I'm not stonecold broke, I ain't got the shekels for lots of equipments.

I really do every now and then have something wondrous witty to say but I notice that most of the wit I find here consists of ~ 4 a.m. backs-and-forths  that I don't find till some six or seven hours later.

So I will continue to enjoy and appreciate all of you but you're not likely to learn much about or from me until or unless there's some improbable amalgam of Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy and the Easter Bunny.  Wish I could "do better by" all of you "and/but" (what I now call "my favorite conjunction"), maybe After That Amalgam I'll be able to.

Meanwhile, To One And All (as 'twas once said): "Be of Good Cheer -- unless you had other plans".  ;-)

Happy bloggin'!
.
You are old when you declare yourself old. In time, I have lived longer than many but I am not old. I have barely been born and haven't done more than scratched many surfaces. We each pass through unique times and places and have unique thoughts and memories worth sharing and laughing about and being totally miserable for what we should have done. You are not less than any of us and we each try and do what we can. If you got a piece of software like Photoshop and a scanner you would be surprised and delighted over how good an artist you are. For we are all artists and poets and writers and of course some are better than others but we all can try and enjoy it.
@Jan Sand - that has to be one of the greatest comments ever written.
There are readers around here as well as writers. They come for the words; the rest is for fun.
Thanks all (so far) ;-) -

Maybe I should revise my original shortcut choice of words ("I'm old") to the ?"Jung 101" I was early taught (or brainwashed by?): i.e., I "have an Inferior Sensation Function". Jung, of course, made the Inferior Function numinous (if I must use that word at a slightly rushed moment) ... and actually I've enjoyed that part of the idea a lot. ["The 'Inferior Function'" is the one (one 'jungian' friend of mine once posited) where people are ... believe it or not ... playful?!] And yes I do feel that way about it often, and enjoy that.

But on the practical level what I was trying to say was that I don't have a digital camera (had one but lost track of where it was), never learned how to scan digital photos to an online page, don't know how to transfer art to a blog page. Things that, Jan, I know you're specially good at! Also am a bit deef and not as inspired as maybe I ?oughta be? to get my hearing aids repaired (another > $1,000) and hope I have the right equipments installed in my computer to be able to hear the sounds of the many videos people incorporate into their posts.

But all of that aside (for the mo') -- the mystery, wonder and delight for me at the moment is this simple stuff about how OS works (or often doesn't):

How did any of you happen to find my blog just now and post to it?

This is what (as of this ?"fleeting"? moment) I'd most like to know, for my ongoing attempted participation in the OS community, and where I'm really totally ignorant. I know how the writer-savvy (and/or ambitious) friends of mine send out alerts to many people whenever they post. I don't do that (because so far I don't know how).

So how (how come), "you guys" found my blog?

Could you just take a mo' to clarify that for me so that then maybe I can participate more fully to more people?

Thanks "the proverbial gazillion" ;-)
Oops [sorry to be so dense, but I TOLJA I "have an Inferior Sensation Function" :-( ] ... you ?"found me"? because you watched the activity thread, right?

Sheeshamminy ... and I took a little time off from the computer to read a few words on dead trees and eat a little supper? Waa...aaa.ll ... I'll have to figger out what to decide about that, next!

Thanks so much, you so far hereabouts "Saddiday Nite Live" OS stalwarts! It's early here now so far. I know where Jan lives and I know where Skypixie0 lives, so now I'll look up the third of you as soon as I dare post this comment lest I be timed out and can therefore learn your name and find you blog page!!

"Cheers"! ;-)
Dianne, HELP ME!, o.k.? ????? ;-( ;-( --

You're one of my ?geniustech OS? frenns who know how to do to EXACTLY what I don't; ?/'got it?

HOW DID YOU FIND ME JUST NOW??
Oops -- sorry; hit a wrong key :-(.

How's about you ... er um ... tell me ... er um ... not ?"quite so quik"???

See, I'm still trying to figure out the first question, o.k.?

HOW DO YOU GUYS FIND ME??!! :-( :-(

[I'd love to swipe one of Tink's lovely closing lines but I don't believe in invading copyright!! ;-)]
I made you a favorite and when you publish it's indicated on my blog. You're also on the front page.
I found you from the feed on the front page, also. If you don't want to time out, click the 'remember me' box beneath your password when you log on. It took me over an hour to embed my first video. We could all tell stories, I'm sure. Good luck, and have fun!
Hey, wow, "you guys"!!!!

Wuz feelin' a bit ?'down at the mouth'? a little earlier this evening because I realised that on commenting to my own blog I hadn't acknowledged Skypiei0 but that was only because I'd already "pm'd" him. [He lives "closer by" than either Jan or Dianne ;-)]

You are all WONDERFUL. ?Making me ?giggle? a bit? [no I can't compete with the OS GiggleMeisters and don't want to! ;-)] but -- well, for a variant on "wow": WHEW!

Thanks so much, to all of you! [Someone give me a variant here on Tinkertink's closing line? ;-)]
I still don’t know how to post pictures myself and you really don’t need to as long as you can create hyperlinks. You must be quite charming anyway. I am assuming that you are a woman. You have the 2 smartest senior gentleman on OS vying for your attention above.
Jack, you're the proverbial "gentleman and a scholar". HA! When was the last time you heard THAT oldfashioned phrase?! [;-)] You haven't been hearing from me much (see original blog theme -- lament? Self-indulgence?) but I count you one of my earliest and most stalwart OS friends. I think you're even one of several people who invited me to join you at LinkedIn. Or was it Facebook? Yes. I'm female but however long it has or hasn't been since anyone called you a gentleman and a scholar I sure don't know when the last time was that anyone called me "charming". Hey, guy, you're a lot more fun than a plastic surgeon [and a lot less expensive too. I was going to say "cheaper" but I didn't like the many connotations of that word :-(]. Ah weel .....

Thanks so much for, as 'tis said, "dropping by". I really do try to follow your blogs but I'm likely to be as much "behind on that" as most everything else, these days. [Don't ASK me when was the last time I ran a vacuum cleaner in this clutter I call my "home"!] Happy Sunday, "Everybubbly" (or whatever day of whatever week you may or may not see these words). ;-)
