My licence to carry Doris Lessing's poems has been extended until November 2013.
Some time ago , I wrote here about hosting two poems by Doris Lessing on my Poethead blog, http://open.salon.com/blog/poethead/2012/07/21/poems_by_doris_lessing
My agreement with Doris Lessing's literary agents, Jonathan Clowes Ltd. , was to carry the transcribed poems for a period of 12 months and then to remove them. I will be removing the Lessings in mid-October of 2012.
I am grateful to Jonathan Clowes Ltd. for allowing me to host the poems, and who acted on Ms Lessing's behalf. It has been an honour to share the poems with my readers who have come to them through search-engines, through Twitter, Facebook and Open Salon.
The poems are from Fourteen Poems , by Doris Lessing and the story of their finding and transcription is detailed at the following link , http://poethead.wordpress.com/2011/11/12/i-have-been-reading-doris-lessings-fourteen-poems-this-week/
Doris Lessing's poetry collections are searchable here, http://www.booksfactory.com/writers/lessing.htm , the McFarlin Library at the University Of Tulsa hosts the Scorpion Press Archive, which houses the correspondences surrounding the Fourteen poems publication (1959).
I have published a brief note, and a set of links to the poems here, http://poethead.wordpress.com/2012/09/02/on-saying-goodbye-to-doris-lessings-poems-in-october-2012/
Thanks to my curious readers, to McFarlin and to http://www.jonathanclowes.co.uk/
I am honoured to have hosted the poetry of Doris Lessing on Poethead. The poems will remain on my blog until mid-October and then they will be removed to a folder.
