6 Word Bio: RUDELY AWOKEN-- MOSTLY OUTSPOKEN-- REMAINING UNBROKEN ****************************************** My life would shock most people. It is a little known fact that there are quite a number of those on the fringes who may not ever see relief. I am that one you never met, in that we are kept separate by way of societal demands that the poor remain silent, biddable, childlike nonentities without a say as to our care or how it's to be provided. ****************************************** I tend to view things as a selfdisicplined person without advantages. If this won't set with some, then I guess they are not ready to remember who we are as one entity, governed by everyone inclusively. I will not cease to point out any diseased thinking I run across here in the USA. ****************************************** I stand in defense of the weakened, the brutally treated, the denied, the ones for whom life's trial can be too much. I stand with my thought, even when my legs are weakened, my stride not strong. ****************************************** Walk with me on this journey, now, wherein we may ask each other: How much is the value of one person affected by what is generally assumed about them? **** See me also at THE POOR WOMAN'S RETROACTIVE DIARY, (go to LINKS below, if you're interested) a commentary on the level of care I was allowed throughout my time seeking help.

Foolish Monkey's OC: Women Must Fight a New Way

Rate: 14 Flag

_6867116

Stand up, ladies!

Stand up and fight!

Kick off those ridiculously high heels and fight like real women!

We are losing ground and must begin over again in legal terms. The truth is, what's been happening via the nastier side of Republicanism is purely unconstitutional, and we know it.

Now, whoever knows or understands what defeat is in Congress just might get upset a little bit over the next statement, but it would appear they have been bamboozled or otherwise forced into allowing this jerk concept of political freedom to rule us again.

We have to re-interpret the causes of this democracy's faltering steps before it is too late. We have to lay the political smack down!

We have to blog like it's a life and death matter, because for some, it surely is and will be.

For one thing, it's the women who are most often apt to blog, although not for political reasons. In many a blogging arena, in and around our blogosphere, I see literally thousands of women painting, creating, poeticizing, and so forth, to beat the band, but fewer than one in ten seems apt to blog about her rights, let alone "where'd they go?"

I feel pretty miffed that we are worshipping TV and fashion and all the so-called girly stuff the media tells us we should buy into. It's crap, and must be regarded as such. For example, I do not require to force my feet and ankles to contort painfully into 7" high heeled shoes so I may conform with someone else's idea of what's fashionable or feminine. Who can run and get away from any potential attacker in such heavyduty and uglifying shoes, anyway? They make the platform shoes of my youth look tame and even low to the ground by comparison. They make my feet ache just  to look at them.

And without the ability to run, who dodges traffic well enough, either?

The signal shoe ads alone send our children is abominable. "You are unworthy of enjoying comfort," say these ads for the new super-high heels. "We want you sexifying yourselves before you're 18, not safely interacting with young men and boys."

The truth is, during every economic downturn, heels on women's shoes seem to speak of women needing to grovel before men will take notice of them.

Women older and younger must be brave enough to say  We've had enough lies, deceit and propaganda directed towards our minds and we want reform which sticks and isn't removable.

Personal freedom shouldn't even be a debatable issue any longer.

We have been duped and double-dealt, and now must defend our national heritage from the cynicism which is currently prevalent, and which the media seem more than ready to add to.

Cynicism was not what fired Dr. King's worthy cause. And it does not stand up and speak the truth in terms best used when freedom's challenged.

Women must hear it from each other. We must begin to share with each other what this lapse in freedom actually means in practical terms so it can be dealt with head on! And on a person-to-person basis.

There is no time like the present.

Men, support your wives and girlfriends, your sisters, daughters, moms and coworkers. Don't allow any further ground to be lost.  Speak out! Share the truth!

Women, speak out and become more aware. Share your views! Not to do so is undemocratic, as is to bury one's head in the sands of economic trouble.

Don't buy into propaganda.

The propaganda machine wants you and your daughters to defend your country, but it won't defend you if you come home wounded in mind or body from a misplaced war.

That's ugly, but it is the truth as one woman sees it.

Take care, Congress! The world sees all, and history will record who lost and who gained by this latest rash of woman-killing political moves.

And get wise, American men! Your wives aren't free anymore. Neither are your daughters. And so long as even one person here is not free, then nobody is really free--that would include the American male.

Peace to any reading my words.

Guess I got a bit hacked here. Tired of stupidity. ANd I'm ready for reform which helps and does not lapse due to some old D.C. croney getting his shirttail in a twist about women having just as many rights as he.
Okay, I'm down with most of what you're saying. The only exception is that, for my daughters at least, they are not defined by the clothes they choose to wear. They define themselves by what's inside and 7" heels (pfffft... As if they'd wear them) not Doc Martens (which they are bugging the hell out of me about) will affect their morals, ethics or belief in what is right - nor their willingness to fight for what they believe in.

In other words, be it a prospective date rapist or Mrs. Boenher's ignorant son, SOMEBODY is gonna get their ass kicked if they mess with THEM!

(and HELL yeah, I'm a proud "Poppi")
Safe_Bet's: So much the better for your girls.
However, they are exceptional, obviously not that mainstream.
You yourself can be pretty unconventional and even less than apt to follow the herd.
Unfortunately, that just isn't true of enough parents or women in general.
Thanks, tho' for the support.
Just read foolish monkey's post and wandered over here.

Those shoes are kinda ugly but I do wear the occasional heel/platform and admit to a bit of a shoe obsession.

I want to share an observation I made the other night when I attended the seniors awards ceremony at my son's high school. Affluent (no I'm not, but the school district is very much so) and one by one the girls toddled onto the stage many of them wearing sky high platforms. Amazing none of them tripped. All I could think of is WTH and why?

We have been totally duped. Its a smoke screen meant to mislead us while they move forward with their agenda(s).
asia: You said it, and I concur! A smokescreen. Perfect analogy.
We must be watchful, always in our country. That we have become too complacent is half our battle.
Right on, sister! As my dad said to me on the phone today, "It's not quite bad enough that people will pay attention until it's too late."
A very worthy rant. I second every bit of it.
Wren: Unfortunately, I think he's right. Which means we're probably screwed already.
Fay: Thanks, hon. It didn't rate much, but it felt good getting it out on the page....
I can't wear heels that high: I have bad knees and they'd pull out my back. I say let women wear whatever they want, but the need to be in pain escapes me.
Hah I love this kinda post. Girl power.

“ We've had enough lies, deceit and propaganda directed towards our minds and we want reform which sticks and isn't removable.”
Personal freedom shouldn't even be a debatable issue any longer…

It never was.
Not really…only in the political headgame universe….where:
“We have been duped and double-dealt, and now must defend our national heritage “
Which is basically, leave me the fuck alone to do my bizness, or I shall smite ya good!
Cool with me..smite with words, tho, of course, like yrs:

As a student of philosophy & theology, gotta say the now is where tis at. Where ‘god ‘ is at. He aint in your head, he is in yer now…

Ok ok…

How bout this:

Emerson, from his g-damn journals!

 “When a whole nation is roaring Patriotism at the top of its voice, I am fain to explore the cleanness of its hands and purity of its heart.
 10 December 1824
 The Religion that is afraid of science dishonours God and commits suicide. It acknowledges that it is not equal to the whole of truth, that it legislates, tyrannizes over a village of God's empires but is not the immutable universal law. Every influx of atheism, of skepticism is thus made useful as a mercury pill assaulting and removing a diseased religion and making way for truth.
 4 March 1831

ay says it all............
I understand the high heel as a symbol of repression and hobbling, but beyond fashion, we need to kick off the men and women who claim to know what's best for us without having any interest in our wellbeing. It isn't just a male/female divide, it's a fear of the modern world vs. bringing the US on par with other first world countries in terms of quality of life. The lives of our daughters and our sons are at stake.
You tell 'em, PW; what a cool rant. R
Being free is always a good illusion.
I tied to comment last week, but my web site for OS kept crashing.
This is a make or break moment for working people.
We can buy cheap junk, or we can make more of our own junk and have jobs and keep our tech edge.
I noticed long ago that heels make you tired. I haven't owned any in many decades!
Wait, so women don't like wearing heels?
I loved this rant! Don't hate us high heel wearing chicks. We stand right there with you, just standing a little taller, but no 7 inchers for me! I too believe women shouldn't feel pressure to wear high heels if they chose. I love them, but I can kick them off when the time is appropriate. Uhhh, and I just realized as I was about to post this comment my photo is a pair of heels....no disrespect to your post. R

patinence says heels are cool, rigtht/?

never be ridden, gals, be the rider.
Okay, where were y'all when I was around for two days noticing nobody reading (or at least leaving any comments)?
LOL
Oh, well....here goes....

Erica: I haven't worn a 7" heel ever, and I'm certainly not wearing heels today. However, I have been known to even sing and dance in wearing heels, once oh-so-many moons ago...(jazz, good people, good clean old fashioned jazz in 4 to 8 part harmony in a group).....be that as it may, these 50+ knees of mine don't like heels any higher than 2". So much for glamour....
I feel for you, Erica...and so does my back.

James: You're talking with a big Thoreau and Emerson fan. Preaching to the choir, so to speak. (*clears throat*). I think what Emerson was saying was cogent for today except for one thing: It can rock both ways, can't it? We've practically outlawed prayer from our schools, which, for some students, feels like a repressive tactic. We have to be careful and stay with it, truly fair, not simply throwing out metaphorical babies with their accompanying bathwater.

A fair balance of power is the answer, I think. Right now, corporations own this country's best interests and are eating away at her spleen. Neither fair nor in balance.

NOW+Here, not no-where.......

So glad you stopped by. I enjoy your commentary. It gets me to thinking even more outside the box.....

:)

Bell: So true! You said it perfectly: "...it's a fear of the modern world vs. bringing the US on par with other first world countries in terms of quality of life. The lives of our daughters and our sons are at stake."

Thoth: Thanks! I think it needed to be said.....

Algis: I would have to disagree with you in part there. No matter how things would appear, we are free to be who we are at least on an internal basis, 24/7/365. That's no illusion, but reality.

Kathy: Oh! good point! They totally do make the wearer tired! It's all about illusion and glamor, the illusion of having legs longer than normal for one's genetics. Also, it's a uniform code of some sort which says "Look at me! I wear cute shoes! Couldn't run away if chased nor move fast enough in traffic, but I look cute! (i.e. fashionable)"
I think heels are okay in and of themselves, just not for everyday wear. There are even some women whose backs go out if they resort to flats, they've worn heels for so long. I prefer to be low to the ground. That's where the rhythm of the earth may be felt best....

icyhighs: Um...most won't admit to it, but we only like the look they give us, not the way they leave us feeling after. Deformed feet aren't pretty, dude. And out of whack backs hurt in later life....

Patience: No disrespect taken. And I hear you. I just see things from a 50 year old's perspective, after years of feeling forced to wear heels in various life situations. It's not funny or comfy, and it's bad for the body, not natural. Men invented high heels. Not we women. Don't be taken in. No disrespect intended from my point of view either. Your heel wearing doesn't diminish your value in this poor woman's eyes.....

James: Now, c'mon. We sometimes like to do the work for you men, but sometimes we prefer not to. Balance......
;)
Of course James always turning to sex.....(eyeroll) Please some of us are ladies here! I never! Okay, maybe sometimes.
My grandpa advised me, for the wrong reasons, that a woman should always wear comfortable shoes. I do. It grounds us better for all the battles. You're right on!
