Bio
6 Word Bio: RUDELY AWOKEN-- MOSTLY OUTSPOKEN-- REMAINING UNBROKEN ****************************************** My life would shock most people. It is a little known fact that there are quite a number of those on the fringes who may not ever see relief. I am that one you never met, in that we are kept separate by way of societal demands that the poor remain silent, biddable, childlike nonentities without a say as to our care or how it's to be provided. ****************************************** I tend to view things as a selfdisicplined person without advantages. If this won't set with some, then I guess they are not ready to remember who we are as one entity, governed by everyone inclusively. I will not cease to point out any diseased thinking I run across here in the USA. ****************************************** I stand in defense of the weakened, the brutally treated, the denied, the ones for whom life's trial can be too much. I stand with my thought, even when my legs are weakened, my stride not strong. ****************************************** Walk with me on this journey, now, wherein we may ask each other: How much is the value of one person affected by what is generally assumed about them? **** See me also at THE POOR WOMAN'S RETROACTIVE DIARY, (go to LINKS below, if you're interested) a commentary on the level of care I was allowed throughout my time seeking help.

Poem: Fevered Dreams

Rate: 13 Flag

The invariable question is

     how to like oneself

          in the face of envy

               or even anger.

Chasing fevered dreams,

we wander hallways coated with wax

         on which our fingers skip

              or skid

                   as we slide by.

The coating tastes of bitterness

     of recoiled feelings

         of buried guilt

             of monumental pain.

When our human condition suggests, "run!"

we perceive it often as our dictum.

Our tourniquet daydreams hobble us out of bounds.

We fight like bandits

     perceive each other as monsters

         dive into each others' pride

             like caustic cheats.

Monkeys do this.

Are we not better?

Sometimes I wonder, Great Work~
Scan: So do I!
And thanks.
Sadly we are heading in the wrong direction...
LL2: It's really time we changed direction for the better, then!
Thanks for stopping by, dear lady.
Maybe we're a tad more devious. Love the poem.
"Our tourniquet daydreams hobble us out of bounds."

I am still envisioning the imagery here....such an interesting line!!!

Well done!
Matt: Thanks so much! And you may have a point. Deviousness can really add to our monkey genetics. But after reading about Jane Goodall's research a while, it's clear we're not the only primates that can be.
JD: Thanks so much. High praise indeed coming from an OS poet whose works I've enjoyed many times.
Wonderful metaphors,
I love the hallways coated with wax.

Romantic: Thank you for stopping by and for your kind comment. I've always admired your work very much, and so consider such praise a real boon.
Well, we can blame it on genetics. Is it the drive to survive, us or them? It would be nice if we would at least try to evolve.
Phyllis: Some od us already are past this point of low thinking. Others tend to linger there as though that were all this world can offer. I see it as a duty to try and be peaceful no matter what the person in front of me is saying. This can be challenging. It requires that I listen better. And that, coming out of any background as rough as mine, can really have its challenging moments.
Perhaps by persevering, you and I can serve the planet better. We deserve the best results, yet may pay a price others won't see.
At the cost of sounding too maudlin, I'm certain we should never give up our concepts of freedom, even if it may mean we must pay a price through patience.
Thanks so much for your warm comment.
Of course we're better; we have dentists that tell us not to use our teeth for anything but chewing our food, so being the compliant souls that we are we've made better weapons with which to kill one another, no longer needing our teeth.

Monkeys can catch up; they just need a better dental plan :-)
Boomer: Well, it seems to me there's an awful lot of metaphorical back-biting going on in Congress, so maybe that's how they make up for it.
;)
diving into others' pride like caustic cheats what a simile! r.
Jon: Thanks. It seemed appropriate. Especially as it's been a nasty election, as always.
Patrick: Why, thank you!
You're very crafty with your rhetoric, PW. I like to believe one way, but have seen a lot of the other.
R♥
Fusie: Not sure to what you're referring, but, okay, I'll ride along and see what it was about.
:)
Some amazing lines here and such powerful imagery, PW.

Knowing which dreams are right and worth the chase would seem the key ... for otherwise we might find ourselves in a nightmare. Right?
