My Absence Excuse

Rate: 12 Flag

Dear Ed I Tor,

Please forgive my absences and not turning in my homework. I have a good excuse.

You see it all started with the broken arm. It was supposed to come off two weeks after my last post. I got overambitious and landed on it and rebroke it where it was healing so nicely. Never ride a crazy unbroken horse with a broken arm. Not a good idea.

Then the constitution came up. Since this is a once in a life time opportunity, I couldn't pass up a chance to be part of history.

September came and the weather changed, and that means Rettir. The annual sheep round up. I skipped the horse back and drove them with my Jeep.

Then great Uncle Jon died. He was 91. He took a nap and didn't wake up. He was awesome.

Then came the holidays and New Years which is a big deal around here.

So now I am back. Cast off, in good cheer and ready to participate.

I'm not the Ed I Tor, but I think your excuses sound perfectly reasonable. :-) Although riding an unbroken horse when your arm's in a cast is risky - but then again, it so sums up your own feisty, impetuous spirit. I hope your arm is better now, and my condolences regarding your uncle. It's great to have you back here. Also, thank you again a million times over for telling your friend about Hermes, the cat my brother needs to find a new home for. I just logged on to OS for a moment and saw your message and it has brought me such a sense of hope. Thank you again. All the best to you, and, again, welcome back!
Welcome back! My father used to ride unbroken horses sometimes but never with a broken arm! As Algis said: may all things mend! I look forward to more of your beautiful, inspiring and sometimes very funny writings.
I missed all of you! It is so good to be back. Now, to find my muse. I hope she didn't skip town with the Christmas elves.
Sounds like you have a lot to write about. Welcome back!
Good to see you back, Poppi...:)
Hi Poppi - was wondering about you!

Gonna come to Iceland one of these days, goggle the scenery, eat fermented shark (not)(well, maybe a nibble), and hope for a meet-up!
Truly great to see you. You are an asset to Iceland, Poppi!
Yay your back! At least the dog didn't eat your homework :)
Been wonderin' 'boutcha. Gettin' the St. Bernard team ready to go, with their cask of fine brandy, of course. You spoke up in the nick of time. Not sure what "nick of time" means, but you surely did.
Congratulations on your revolution and new constitution. What Iceland has done is an enormous inspiration for the entire world.
A lot of people were gone for a long time and are coming back, like forest animals after a fire.
