Good day, OSers. Hope you had a great weekend. We’re doing just fine, thank you very much, here in the heart of the heart of the country, and we hope you’ll take a look or two (or eleven) at Punchnel’s this week.
Why should you bother? Well…
Monday (9/12), we have another great post from OS’s very own Writer To The Stars, Ashley Walker. Luck 2.0 finds her in the eighth circle of Hell—but she’s not just roasting marshmallows.
We’ve all seen photos from September 11 in Lower Manhattan. But what happened the next day, and the day after that? Ed Whitehead had a camera and forty rolls of film. We’ll be posting more of this pictures this week—but you can start here, with his shots from the Westside Highway on September 12, 2001.
You’ll also see a snappy answer to a college student who didn’t understand his computer could probably do his calculations…and a great bunch of stuff to put on your Punchlist from Mary Catharine Grau. Including swinging. No, not that kind of swinging.
Tuesday (9/13), we’ll have another bit of fiction from our own Traci Cumbay, and a classic OS piece from another of your favorites, Linda Lenzen Treiber.
Wednesday (9/14) is the day for new poetry and more new fiction from Alex Mattingly, whose serial novel, Everything And More, is one of our most popular features. If you haven’t started, do it today. You don’t want to get too far behind on this one. We promise it will be worth your while.
Of course, we have all sorts of other stuff coming up on Thursday (9/15) and Friday (9/16), too—a photo essay by your Barry Doyle (bbd at OS), more humor, more reviews—well, it’s all too much to lay out here. Just come over and read. It will be fun.
Plus, you’ll get right in, and you won’t have to wait eight minutes for the page to load.
