An unauthorized video of an anti-war song, by Hamell on Trial. A solo act who was even based in Austin for a time (so saith the Interwebs), in recent years Ed Hamell has been a recording artist for Righteous Babe Records (Ani diFranco's label) and holes up in New York City when he's not touring. I meant to catch his show at South By this year, but the best laid plans, you know.
I love so many aspects of this song: the wry lyricism, the wit, the brilliant use of fuzzy distortion, the in-your-face-all-you-religious-nitwits vibe. His rage matches my own, and when I listen to this in my truck, I wail with him. See if you don't feel the same.

Stop the Killing!
Sandra, I hope the part that inspired you is the part where I shout along to the song while driving to work.
Gary, we're past due for at least a temporary stoppage. The other bookend for this,--the boomer equivalent come to think of it--would be Arlo Guthrie's Alice's Restaurant, I think, the part where he's trying to impress the recruiter, shouting "Kill! Kill! Kill!" Did we learn nothing from Alice's Restaurant?
