There aren't many singers like Jill Sobule. Most of her songs are much more melancholy and wistful than this, my third or fourth favorite composition of hers, the ahead-of-its-time "I Kissed A Girl". The version on her self-titled 1995 CD features a more interesting arrangement, but you get the picture.

I follow literally hundreds of pop stars. Jill Sobule is the only one whose fan club (her "Secret Society") I have joined. In her club I even have a secret code name: Agent Orange Hart.

Robin, Jill is a Colorado native, you know. I believe she lives in Los Angeles now. She has several very striking songs, but one of the better, darker ones is entitled "Clever".

Secret Society? I think we have one of them up here in North Idaho. In fact, they have been leaving ominous notes tied up in plastic baggies on the neighbor's lawns this summer. hmmm...

Totally cool, Rich. I love this song so much and was so sad when that other person co-opted the title and made it into an insipid pop song. Pssssst-- I kissed one, too!
