While I'm not yet adding this electricity cost analysis to my "Breaking Bad" factsheet (hard to condense), it's a situation my California readers need to know.  Our residential electricity rates are often outrageous compared to the rest of the nation.   And, to get to the bottom line,… Read full post »

The press and civil rights leaders are outraged by an admittedly blatant, racist comment by Rush Limbaugh -- "Articulate Obama couldn't even sell watermelons . . . "  It's the tragic end of Limbaugh's career.

Here's the smoking gun -- the incriminating video catching him on tape.

My savvy readers are familiar with some of the scandals surrounding red light camera tickets.  Desperate local governments see this "Dukes of Hazzard" money-grabbing device as a cost effective way to confiscate more revenue to cover the unfunded public employee pensions and health care (remember… Read full post »

Sadly, it's true.  In polls where blacks think the polliing results will stay within the black community, the degree of racism -- against ALL other races -- is disconcerting.

But even more disconcerting is the OPENLY racist attitudes of blac… Read full post »

I thought "Avatar" deserved Best Picture (it's one hell of a ride), but from a political standpoint, I'm glad it lost.  Like almost every Sci-Fi movie these days, the villain in "Avatar" is an EvilCorporation.  It's astonishing how often that's the case.

"Gamer," a bad Sci-Fi film th… Read full post »

Studies find a correlation between the level of state taxation and domestic migration of the wealthy between states.  More state tax -- more net outmigration.

Gee, what a surprise!  Who'd 'a thunk it?  Certainly not spendthrift politicians.
