Custom Color Chart

Rate: 24 Flag
So.. I've been wanting to put a color chart up for quite a little while but I didn't really have the inclination, (meaning I was to lazy to do it.) But then the idea came to my brains that maybe I could wrap a post around the whole deal making it all meaningful... in some manner or another. The light bulb in my head suddenly lit up and I had a vision of doing a post about colored text boxes and how normally they were boring because the choice of background colors, goldenrod, gray... ect.,.

BORING!

I didn't, however, know how to make a text box in the first damn place until I remembered, (fuzzy at best) that another OS member had done a post on the very subject but who was it?? I couldn't remember and I racked my limited supply of brain cells over it until I figured I would send a note to the smartest guy I could think of,
Rob St. Amant.
I asked Rob if he knew how to make a colored text box and if he didn't, could he send me in the right direction to which he replied that he really didn't have a clue, offhand, but that Kent Pitman had a pretty good post dealing with this very subject.. And he was right! (I told you he was a smart guy and with a great memory..) So if you want to make some colored text boxes to call attention to some of your text AND you want to use some great non boring colors in conjunction, there of, you can use my color chart in addition to Kent's tutorial and dazzle the shit out of others who aren't in the know.
If at some later date you need to find this post of mine again just look to my links, on the left hand side of this screen and you will see the Color Chart Link I have placed there for the world to find. -Ric

Rrrrrrrated!
Whoa, Ric! This is going on my "Very Good Posts to Know About" link section! Good heavens, that's a lot of wonderful.
I am humbled by this post Ric.
~bow at your feet~
I will take all the posts like this I can find here.
Humbled!!
A++++
You never cease to amaze.
I didn't even know we had a choice in background color. Where is that at and how do you change it???? This just gets more awesomie all the time. So how do we install the colors?? Inquiring minds want to know and so do I.
Now I post a comment and I've got polka-dot boarders around the colors. You are really messing with my head now, aren't you?
I've added this to my big collection of html and css advice! You'd better believe that those colored boxes are next on my list!!!!
Go to Kent's blog Mike.. All of your answers are there.
You are the BEST, Ric, I´ll read the other posts now, and then I´ll start playing, yes!
Kisses.
f's across is white. 0's across is black. The hexi numerology is base 16. The hexi numbers are two digit r's g's and b's. You can get to 256 in "base ten terms" with two digits if you use all the arabic numbers plus a through f in the two places. Take khaki, for example and make that last "c" a "b." It's the same as making that 140 a 139. You and Kent will someday rule the OS design world! Oh, I forgot "dazzle-ator." He rocks too. If all this is Greek, open up MS Paint or similar. Type numerical values for R, G, and B and watch the palette change. Or, with the color picker, settle on a zone and change the slider for brightness. Watch the numerical values also change. So cool!
You are a generous guy. Thanks!
Arrrrrrrghhhhhhh. Thought I left this all behind with the hell that is Quark Express, but noooooooo. You have to bring it all up again like some bad dream.

Seriously, thanks Ric. I'm keeping this one on file.
Quark about finished me.. That was one BS program.
I'm extremely impressed, although I'm too dim to know how to use it myself. Of course, if Michael Rodgers can do it, maybe there's hope for me. :)
I wouldn't count to much on Mike using it.. :)
veeelllllyyyyyyy intelllesting..............

Sorry I am so late, friend. Too many pans on the stove.

I love Quark! I used to make my living with Quark. Of course I also dream in Xtags code. So sad when that happens.
Thank you sir. These are so damn hard to track down...
Dang, I'm a sucker for color charts. I like this one. Thanks, Ric.
