Latinos are angry and out for some payback..

Rate: 10 Flag

I was reading this article about how the Latinos were angry about the Republicans voting against the appointment of Sonia Sotomayor. This Author, ( Dolores M. Bernal ) wrote her opinion about the whole deal and I found it to be a pretty good read, and thought I would share it with you all.

She makes some very good points and if I was one of these Senators looking to be re-elected in 2010.. Why, I might be looking for another job.. Just in case.

Poor old John McCain really screwed the pooch THIS time!

QUOTE: "As a Latina and a US citizen who votes at every election, I will invest time and effort to tell my family members who are also US citizens and voters, to remember what Republicans did today when the majority of them voted against Judge Sonia Sotomayor.

It’s an absolute insult to Latinos in this country – especially to those of us who have been here for generations – to hear Republicans say that the only things we care about are “jobs and the economy” and that therefore the GOP won’t lose Latino voters after voting against Sotomayor."

"Fellow Progressives and Latinos, on the next election, a huge “NO” to those who voted against Sotomayor:"

Ric, once again the Short-sighted Republican Rogues Gallery is afoot upon the land! I have two Democrats representing my state in the Senate so none of these names hit close to home.
Great find, Ric. The Latino voting block is HUGE and hasn't really found a home in American politics as of yet. This should definitely push them toward the Dems. This is the sort of thing that unite all Latinos, something that hasn't happened much in the past.
Those asses really shot themselves in both feet this time, but if you look at the states that these Senators come from, most are either considered racist or very white states. Go figure.
Yeah maybe but we can't forget that some of those, "White States" helped elect Obama. I think all the racist talk is going to back fire on them, (Repubs.)
Dummies! They will never have anything but tokens to play on their team. Rated.
Thanks for passing this along, Ric. There was not reason for them to vote against her other than pure spite. "Country First" indeed!
"Viva La Sotomayor"
That's quite a political strategy the GOP has come up with: Keep telling everyone they aren't good enough to be allowed in "your" clubhouse. Friggin' twits.
Way to go, Ric! I heard Ms. Bernal make this comment on ABC's World News tonight--and laughed out loud (and scared the cat)! I can't wait to see the fallout from this! It's about time folks realized what these "politicians" are really like! Rated for timeliness! D
I hope so, too. With all my heart. All that sissy-slapping and girlie-screaming that the Repubs do anytime they catch a whiff of the Liberal Boogeyman - what a bunch of wussies. It's about time they stepped on their own you-know-what so obviously that even the most uninformed among us can't miss it.
As much as I despise the repubics, I despise the two party system even more. Most people think the Libertarians are a fringe nut house, but their philosophy and logic are sound. Oh so sound.

I hope I’m wrong as hell, but I really don’t think we’re ever going to get anywhere with the current two-party bull shit. Check out the Libertarians. They aren’t the fringe nut cases people seem to think. In fact, for those of you who lived through the 60s revolution, they represent what we all hoped for.

It’s time for political change again. It’s time to take back our freedom and liberties.

Thanks for drawing my attention to this list Ric. It just so happened that tonight I was looking for this very list.
Thanks, Ric. It's valuable for the list alone.
