Okay.. I have to warn you. The links I am providing here have some terrible images attatched to One. This is the real deal, if you can't hack it, don't look or read what I have found.
If you can hack it, please join me in my outrage at our last President & VP for their support of torture.. And outrage at our current President for seeking to keep it quiet and to protect Bush from going to trial as a war criminal, because he surely is.
If Obama doesn't take action he is going to look guilty as hell, his own self, as far as I am concerned. -Ric
"Down a side street of the old silk road city of Samarkand lives Professor Jamal Mirsaidov, a fearless critic of what he calls a Mafia government.
PROFESSOR MIRSAIDOV: This is not a government. It’s a monster against its own people based on ancient Mongol-Turkish brutality. When you start raising issues regarding human rights or the nation, this government will destroy you definitely.
WILLIAMS: In April 2003 then Ambassador Murray travelled to Samarkand especially to meet the professor. As a result he would soon feel the full force of government repression.
MURRAY: I left the house that evening at three o’clock but that morning, a few hours later, the body of his grandson was dumped on the doorstep. He had both knees and elbows smashed by a blunt object. The right hand had been immersed in boiling water or boiling liquid for a long period and he’d eventually been killed by a blow which caved in the back of his skull.
The lad had been killed as a warning to dissidents for meeting me, perhaps as a warning to me against meeting dissidents.
WILLIAMS: His death reinforced a terrible reality in Uzbekistan – step out of line and the secret police don’t just target you, they go for your family.
PROFESSOR MIRSAIDOV: I am in a state of deep grief, frustration but I am not angry. If you get angry with the government here it counts as suicide."

Muzafar Avazov, body showed signs of burns on the legs, buttocks, lower back and arms. Sixty to seventy percent of the body was burnt, according to official sources. Doctors who saw the body reported that such burns could only have been caused by immersing Avazov in boiling water. Those who saw the body also reported that there was a large, bloody wound on the back of the head, heavy bruising on the forehead and side of the neck, and that his hands had no fingernails.

The U.S. recognized the independence of Uzbekistan on December 25, 1991, and opened an Embassy in Tashkent in March 1992. U.S. policy since that time has been to support Uzbekistan’s development as an independent, sovereign country with democratic institutions rooted in the rule of law. The U.S. and Uzbekistan cooperated closely following the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks and the start of the war in Afghanistan. However, relations cooled following U.S. and European demands for an independent, international investigation into the May 2005 Andijon violence and as the Government of Uzbekistan sought to limit the influence of U.S. and other foreign non-governmental organizations (NGOs) working on civil society, political reform, and human rights inside the country.
Since mid-2007, the United States and Uzbekistan have begun to rebuild cooperation on issues of mutual concern, including security and economic relations, as well as political and civil society issues. Uzbekistan has Central Asia's largest population and is important to U.S. interests in ensuring stability and security in the region."
U.S. interests.... What do you suppose this is? Do they still have to pay a monthly fee to keep our role in their torture operation quiet? Maybe we still use them for their talents at torture. At present I am trying to run down the names of all in Congress and the Senate who voted to give these people all that money.
When I do, you all will be the first to know... I promise.
