Steve News - Down and Dirty

Rate: 6 Flag

I just got off the phone with Steve.. The news is, he is in the hospital, they won't let him go back to the motel, (so don't send any cards there.) He has to stay in the hospital until a heart becomes available.

Do not pass Go, do not collect the 200 bucks. No heart, no life.

He is holding up well, considering. But I know he is a ball of emotion, just under the skin. Nancy, (for the time being) has a cot beside his bed, (because she is too broke to be any place else. I suppose if they kick her out of the hospital she will sleep in her car in the parking lot.. I don't know but the whole deal makes me feel so damn helpless, you just can't imagine.

He told me they have expanded the search area from 1200 miles to 1500 and that they have a mecahnical heart standing by in his room should his real heart finaly give up the ghost, all of this makes me think that time counting down.

So here is the new place to send cards to:

Steve Meachan
D3 C/O
Stanford Medical Center Hospital

Donations can be made to Nancy's PayPal account:

Any little bit helps. Thanks -Ric

Thank you for this information. If they need anything else please let me know. They are in our prayers.
Man, Ric. Do I ever know that helpless feeling. You are doing a great service for your friend. Some things are just beyond our control. Best wishes and hopefully, a better 2011.
Doesn't this move him to the head of the list now? Ric, you've done an incredible thing here. Maybe this will bring the truth home to people in a way they didn't understand before. By reporting about him, and keeping the story alive, the whole life trauma cannot be ignored or forgotten. You are a truly great friend and that is a rare accomplishment. Peace.
I'm sorry about your friend,Ric. I just hope and pray he gets a heart! Good luck and happy new year.
As always, praying for your friend......
