- Bio
- I've been a soldier, archaeologist, journalist, graphic artist, web designer and most recently web and software developer. I have hiked in West Africa and Amazonian Peru, sea kayaked most of the east coast, almost drowned off the NC coast, almost died from malaria, have had dysentry and other gastrointestinal junk, am a husband to the most forgiving wife and father to four children who are better than me and friend to one super dog.
I work in publishing, for a magazine, developing tools to streamline the publishing work flow and transition our little segment of the industry from print heavy to web savvy. It's an uphill battle.

Hookers, murder and thieving...
So both the Senate and the House voted on legislation yesteday or rather amendments to legislation that would block ACORN from receiving Federal funding because a couple of ACORN employees got caught in a sting giving advice to a faux pimp on how to set up a hooker ring tax free.… Read full post »

Terrorism as a endless campaign tool...
Tom Ridge, in his soon-to-be released book claims that he was pressured to raise the terror threat alert weeks before the 2004 elections. Prior to the election there were video tapes released by bin Laden and Azzam the American (Adam Gadahn) making unspecificed threats against the US and US interest.… Read full post »
Gallup Healthy Behavior Poll
Gallup as released it's state of the states poll, here and it shows that the further you move from the center and Southern portions of the country the healthier a life style people live on average.

The chart below shows political affiliations throughout the country, the darker the… Read full post »
Facism, socialism, marxism and health care...
So let me see if I got this right...a contingent of the far right is encouraging people to go to town hall meetings on health care reform and not debate the issue but basically be disruptive and shout down the politician in question so that no point of view can be… Read full post »
The Beer Summit
Opens:
Obama: Bud Light. An obvious White House communication office decision and a poor one. Obvious pandering to Joe Six Pack.
Gates: Red Stripe. Nice opening, unconventional and relatively unknown unless you've been drunk in Florida during Spring break. A solidarity move since i… Read full post »
The AP Drives Home Another Nail
The AP has basically layed down the gauntlet to bloggers and news aggregators, claiming that any use of any part of its articles is a violation of its copyright and does not fall under the "Fair Use" doctrine.
It seems that instead of using the openess and connectivity of the… Read full post »
