I consider myself a jewel ...

Rate: 5 Flag

In his post Fortune Telling with your artAlgis Kemezy made the generous offer to interpret a simple drawing, based on using 4 basic shapes. I couldn't resist, so I sent in the following drawing, per his specifications. I did it on the Paint program on my computer, so it's a bit rough.

Untitled

I want to thank Algis for his generosity. We all love so to hear about ourselves! So here is his interpretation:

Firstly you are currently working within the framework of your understanding and knowledge of the world. You also have a unique picture of the world that is your own personal slant. This is your framework and you are not taking any chances outside of what you understand. This might be causing you to pile ideas upon ideas but they seem to be clear to you. You seem to be very sensual these days and might have found the ideal partner because it seems to satisfy you in many ways. This has allowed you to form your own framework of spirituality and personality. You have lots of ambition and that seems to be pushing the boundries of your knowledge or soon you will be trying something outside your framework of understanding or simply wanting to expand it. I think you consider your self as a bit of a jewel and maybe thats even diamond quality. You have bound yourself as one entire package and try to keep everything within one frame of understanding. You seem like you are ready to change your perception and working knowledge of your endeavors at any time now. I think you're a very deep person and unraveling who you are is a complex task for anyone who meets you and tries to figure you out. Still the keeping together of all your traits keeps you feeling like you might have infinity within your grasp although you could adapt very quickly. I think you're pretty much together.

                          ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I find no fault with this interpretation, except to say it is awfully kind to me. You might have trouble following my logic or understanding why I do what I do, but that's just because I have my own personal slant and pile ideas upon ideas. I have found the ideal partner that satisfies me in every way--it's just that it is myself. But so true.  You might say I'm arrogant and controlling, even smug, but instead, I have lots of ambition and consider myself a bit of a jewel. I love that! It's true! You might, if you knew me, think I'm difficult and stubborn, but instead I'm a complex task for you to figure out. I might be called fickle and itinerant, but actually I just adapt very quickly
I wonder why we are so entranced with systems that tell us about ourselves, such as the astrology chart, or inneagrams, or Myers-Briggs typing? Anybody have an answer?
"You also have a unique picture of the world that is your own personal slant." Loved that! Looking forward to when we finally meet to hear your slant on things.
As far as the "who we are" stuff - I dunno? I always find it interesting to hear others perceptions of everything, so its interesting to hear it about me, too. Also, I believe everyone is their own worst critic. It teaches me to go gentler on myself.
Great to get a peek!
Which is more important, really. The answer or asking the right question?
:-)
I enjoyed reading your personal interpretation, too.
I think the internets ate the comment I left here, or tried to leave here. Here's my best reconstruction, which may bear no resemblance to the original:
I like both interpretations . . . and why not frame ourselves in the postive?
As for why we are attracted to the interpretational stuff, I suspect we're looking for new insights/angles on who we are/why we are. It's like we're wired for it, or something.
I think I'll start calling you Diamond Lil....! Why do we like hearing insights about ourselves...? Because I think that we all, deep down, want to understand our motivations, do better, love more....xox
I thought this was entertaining, you jewel you, but personally I like to keep things simple. That is why I have an unshakeable, deep belief in fortune cookies and their mystical messages.
It's good that you have so much confidence in yourself. I think that is a good thing in these times because everyone is so damn insecure and want to tell everyone about it. We all have "stuff" that can get us wanting everyone's perception of us. We all tend to be too analytical about everything. Natural is a better way to go. I'm new here and luckily haven't put on my 'hard to understand' poetry yet. Ha..lgood post.
