Blue The Colour of a Life

Rate: 43 Flag

images

Blue,   the colour of the dress

the memory of the sky

the colour of his eyes

above the rustle of the grass

Blue,   the veins beneath the skin

the zenith of the stone

the tinge of milk that flowed

with each pulse and beat within

Blue,  the colour of the wrap

the cupid of his lips

the shadows of the night

in each dream that time brings back

Blue, the colour of alone

the smell and sound of rain

the feeling in the muse

a trumpet calling low

Blue, the colour of the sea

a feather on a bird

a moon above the field

Life that flows in me

I know this life my dear Rita. Someday, there will be brighter colors for you and you will write about those.

Still, serene, restive.
Blue is a "place" now. Thanks for sharing this place with us all.

Misty blue. This one reads like a stream.
FE Thank you Love to you friend!
Rutilus, so thoughtful of you, thank you for the kind words
Scupper: misty blue, that's great, I like that, thank you!
James, thank you for your input, as I admire your poetry so much. I like to just create mood not actually say what the theme is. So this is all my favorite things in the world and if they had a color it would have to be Blue. A lover's eyes above me matching the sky, making love, diamonds, my son nursing; the veins under his skin pulsing with mine, Miles, rain, birds, the sea and especially the moon. So thats what came out! Thank you for asking, I consider it a true compliment. Merry Christmas Mr. Strange and Beautiful.
Rita, you never disappoint. Your poetry is so eloquent, so moving. Your talent is amazing.

Skele: thank you, women would recognize that one, breast milk is always seemed a little blue tinged...
Amanda: Thank you for coming by, and the lovely thoughts!
Tarheel: welcome and thank you for your input, I enjoy the critiques (especially when so kind)
Myriad: I don't usually do any kind of rhyme, tried something new glad you appreciated it.
Cindy, first thank you, you warned me ahead. But guess what, you understood something totally not stated. Something no one else guessed, how wonderful and insightful of you. You underestimated your idea of understanding poetry, it is the same as observance of the small things and you have that. TY Rita
This was just so powerful. Just a beautiful image. I love the flow of the poem, the way it reads.
Excellent!

Your poetry [a b c a] brings the colour blue beyond imagination's palette. You've definitely captured the jazz that lives within the meter and syncopation. ~R~
A blues song. Always gets under my skin. Thanks for the music.

"Blue, the colour of alone_" _r
Hi Rita. I'm just combing through your back-posts, looking at your poems. I admire this one a lot. It has a very musical quality to it, with the four lines of a verse repeatedly punctuated by the single "Blue" of each next verse. It turns the word into a goal and starting point at the same time, so that each time, just when you've risked departing too far, you come back assuringly to home.

I also love the "00h" sound in English. Thanks for picking the right color.
Thank you Mark for taking the time to page back and read. This was for a Open Call on colors.
