Leviticans Are Not Christians

Rate: 1 Flag

Just now I discovered a brilliant new way to describe so-called Christians who would deny gays the right to marry one another. I found it in a letter in response to the Salon article "Gay Marriage in the Heartland", about Iowa's decision to allow gays to marry. The letter writer gave credit to Slate Magazine, but whoever came up with it is a genius at nomenclature.

So, these imbeciles aren't Christians, they're Leviticans. Call them that, to their face when necessary.

Leviticans would be stoning gays, not merely keeping the definition of marriage to man and woman. Jesus in the Gospels clearly states that marriage is between a man and a woman.
Which Gospel? Which chapter and verse, perdidochas?
First…and most importantly…anyone who wants to deny homosexuals the right to marry is an asshole! All the nonsense about homosexuality being immoral is bullshit.

But to suggest that one can be both a Christian…and in favor of homosexual marriage or homosexual rights in any form…is absurd.

Christianity is a joke…and it is based on god that is a cartoon.

But the cartoon god is very, very explicit in how it feels about homosexual conduct…which it finds abominable to the point where it decrees summary death upon people who practice it.

Jesus…who should be important to Christians…WORSHIPPED that cartoon god…and said forcefully that he was not here to change anything that was contained in the “laws” of that god.

To suggest that Christians treat homosexuality with respect is to ask them to be hypocrites. You should be counseling them to shit-can Christianity instead!
Regana,

Note: I was not planning to quote chapter and verse, and am only doing so because you requested.

Mark 10:5 Then Jesus said to them, 'It was because you were so hard hearted that he wrote this commandment for you.
6 But from the beginning of creation he made them male and female. 7 This is why a man leaves his father and mother,
8 and the two become one flesh. They are no longer two, therefore, but one flesh.

Matthew 19:4 He answered, 'Have you not read that the Creator from the beginning made them male and female
5 and that he said: This is why a man leaves his father and mother and becomes attached to his wife, and the two become one flesh?
6 They are no longer two, therefore, but one flesh. So then, what God has united, human beings must not divide.'
