The plot thickens on South Carolina governor's unexplained hiatus. With his wife and staff in the dark about where the Governor has been for the past four days, yesterday republican Mark Sanford simply reappeared claiming that he took a hike along the Appalachian Trail.

But now he claims he wasn't hiking along the Appalachian Trail. Instead he claims he wanted to do something more "exotic". So he went to Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Considering that it was the first vacation in his nine year tenure where he was entirely out of touch with the office, who can blame him? (more here)
