Magnificent! I have stalked (in the photographic sense) Great Blue Herons for years and have never been able to capture any actions like this. You were definitely in the right place at the right time. ~R

Stahi, yes, I was lucky. But, I was also prepared. I am a gardener. I was on a job, Weeding For Dollars, as I like to call it. I had my camera beside me. There is a tidal flat where I was working. Nothing was going on bird or beast wise, but I was ready in case. And TA DA! I too, have stalked this type of action for years and taken loads of pleasing Great Blue Heron shots, but nothing this interesting before. I'm delighted that someone has recognized the dedication it takes. Thank you.

Algis, thank you very much. They are so prehistoric looking and also make quite a squawk, too. I wish I had a video camera for moments like that one to capture the sound as well.

The Good Daughter and dt dsf, thank you both for your high regard of my photos. I am a gardener, so many of the shots i take, this one included, have been taken where I'm working, Weeding For Dollars. So, my lumbar discs are pretty well shot, but my camera skills have gotten pretty good.
