Okay Governor Perry, What's Your Price?

Rate: 11 Flag

During the most recent GOP Joint Campaign Appearance (incorrectly referred to as a debate) Michelle Bachmann intimated that Texas Governor Rick Perry may have signed an executive order that mandated HPV vaccinations, as a payback for campaign contributions.

From the Los Angeles Times:

Bachmann noted that a former chief of staff for Perry became one of Merck’s top lobbyists in Texas and suggested that Perry steered the vaccination contract to the company in exchange for a campaign check.

"Was this about life or was it about million of dollars and potential billions for a drug company?" Bachmann demanded.

Perry said that Merck’s donation amounted to $5,000. “If you’re saying I can be bought by $5,000, I’m offended,” he growled.

Perry's comment reminds me of an old (but timely) joke.

A man walks up to a beautiful woman and says, “Would you blow me for a million dollars?”

“Sure," she replied.

“How about five bucks?”

“Who do you think I am?”

The man said, “We’ve already established that.  We’re just haggling over the price.”

Governor Perry was offended, not at the notion that he could be "bought," but that somebody would think that his price tag would be so low.

So Governor Perry, to make sure that nobody offends you in the future, what is your price?

Love that old joke! I don't think Perry is aware that people see right through him. R
That's how everyone does business. At least if you see the money, which we do, you can ask yourself who likes him, which is fair. I don't think most politicians actually like that part of it, at all. But, if everyone has to do that to be heard, what can you do?
A sign of just how thick in the head are the Repugnuts, not a one thot to ask the obvious question of Perry -- So what is your price? Or maybe they were afraid he'd return the disfavor.
'Repugnuts' ? I haven't heard that one since my junior year in high school ...

As for Perry... speaking as a conservative Republican, I've had enough of Texan pols for awhile.
Well, we are certainly seeing what Obama's price is as the solar scam and it's crooked bundler pay back hustle is blowing up around his big ears... shades of Clinton and his Blow Job Mafia, perhaps ?
His answer was "priceless." Great soundbite, should this arrogant, wrong-headed man continue forward in his quest.
I agree, Roger. I thought Bachmann missed a great opportunity when Perry said he couldn't be bought for $5000. She should have come back with "Oh, and how much does it take to buy you, Governor? $10,000? $50,000?"
Good post!
His price: 25 cents!! :D

He very cheap!! ;D
Let's put bright red lipstick on him, force him into a slit skirt, and turn him loose in Times Square.

We can pick him up later to see how many tricks he's turned.

Then we can pocket the money and funnel it to Americans For Prosperity--an organization of whores.
I can answer the price question.
Perry blew me for a Happy Meal and a full color cattle auction brochure, which didn't cost me anything. Although I was a bit uncomfortable with having to stomp, snort and bellow during the act, I figure that didn't cost me anything either.

Answer: A Happy Meal and a few no-cost perks.
I guess the only time conservatives do anything progressive is when it can line their own pockets or their campaign coffers.

As a GOP strategist said after the debate:
"Listening to Perry try to a put a complicated policy sentence together is like watching a chimp play with a locked suitcase."
Apparently he could be bought for $13,000 outright and lots more in other ways.

Tho actually the vaccination idea might have been one of his good ideas...might have saved lives to offset his execution record. However, apparently it never did go thru.
I thought I heard on the news that Merck gave a few mil to the Republican Governors Association who funded $400 K to Perry's campaign. He was right to be indignant about the $5 K charge.
Even Mark Twain told a version of that joke. Tried and true.
