In a 1994 Senate debate with Ted Kennedy, Mitt Romney strongly touted his credentials as a man dedicated to helping women and minorities shatter the glass ceiling. But, as is often the case with Mr. Romney, the rhetoric doesn't match the results.
Romney said:
“I believe that public companies… should be required to report… the number of minorities and women… so we can identify where the glass ceiling is and break through it.”
Perhaps the key word there was "public" as Romney might not want the private company that he co-founded,
Bain Capital, to be held to that standard. (Romney left the firm in 1999 but continues to receive a share of Bain's profits, according to
The New York Herald-Tribune)
According to their website Bain Capital "is one of the world's leading private, alternative asset management firms whose affiliates manage approximately $66 billion."
The firm currently has 81 employees with the title of "Managing Director." If you seek one of those coveted positions it would help greatly if you were a man, not African American, and have a BA or an MBA from Harvard.
Of the 81 Managing Directors six are women and none appear to be African American. (Only 62 of the directors have photos posted on the company's website).
Of the 62 directors that have biographies on the Bain website, 40 of them have a BA or MBA from Harvard Business School.
Is there a shortage of African American candidates with Harvard Business degrees? Not according to the "Harvard Business School African American Alumni Association." HBSAAA President Ken Powell's "
Message From The President" states that the organization serves
"over 2,200 African-American, African, and other black graduates of HBS who identify with an African-American heritage."
Given Bain's lopsided preference for Harvard grads it seems odd that none of the 2,200 African American graduates were recruited by Bain and eventually promoted to the position of Managing Director. After all, founder Romney said that his entire life has been dedicated to breaking the glass ceiling. Six women and zero African Americans indicates that the glass ceiling at Bain must be pretty thick.
Former Governor Romney's campaign has also not responded to the following email:
My name is Roger Fallihee and I'm publishing a blog regarding the lack of women and African American Managing Directors employed by Bain Capital. I realize that Mr. Romney left the firm in 1999, but in 1994 he made a strong point regarding his commitment to "breaking the glass ceiling." (See clip: http://tinyurl.com/6npbwzl)
Did Bain Capital have any African American Managing Directors during Mr. Romney's tenure with the firm? According to Bain's website there doesn't appear to be any African American Managing Directors at this time.
Sincerely,
Roger Fallihee
If and when I hear from Mr. Romney's staff I will include their response.

Time and time again we hear of police and firefighter exams that have to be dumbed down to accomodate blacks. Worldwide, whites only account for 9%-12% of the population, so who is the real minority. Many deserving, educated whites are denied employment so that a black, that averages 15-30 points lower IQ can take the job. (Yes, the actual, objective and valid IQ studies have shown this IQ difference for the last 5 decades at least)
I've read where college professors keep black students after class and give them the exam answers while the whites have to actually study and then, after they graduate with massive student debt, which they can't discharge because they are white while blacks almost never have to pay back defaulted debt, can't get a job because it was given to an affirmative action hire.
You're a good guy Roger, but you need to pull your head out of your ass on this one. Check the facts.
Romney was the one claiming that he promoted women and minorities. I was just showing that he was lying. As to your statistics, I'd like to see some footnotes.
Once again in less than 1000 words you establish yourself as one of the most hateful ignoramuses on the planet today. I will grant that you know how to deliver a great punchline. When I read "Check the facts" it had me laughing for several minutes. The ass filled with head and the head it is filled with belong to you.
@rwnutjob. Let's pretend the information you gave is true. So what is supposed to happen to blacks? What role do you want them to play in the society in which you live? I hear this BS about whites not getting a job because they gave it to a minority. In my experience, that is like the easter bunny. Everyone talks about it, but they know it doesn't exist. I've never known of anyone, nor has anyone I've discussed it with, ever known of a white person not getting a job because of the reason you cite. Your opinion and your attitude is despicable. Humans that think and believe as you do need nothing more than they need extinction. Evolution left you behind. The rest of mankind has made some progress, and there is no place in today's world for genetic defects like you.
Thanks for the info. Nut job not nice and best to keep that kind of hate inside so that it doesn't get in my space and only pollutes your world.
