Rate: 2 Flag
 Lester William Polsfuss, known as Les Paul (June 9, 1915 – August 13, 2009) was a musician and inventor. He was a pioneer in the development of the solid-body electric guitar which "made the sound of rock and roll possible." He is credited with inventing or discovering many recording innovations including overdubbing (also known as sound on sound), delay effects such as tape delay, phasing effects, and multitrack recording. He lived a few towns away and was friends with my guitar teacher. He influenced people a lot more than they know. Most just thin he made a guitar.
If everyone who has heard his "inventions" would shake hands, all of this other shit would be over!!
Great Stuff~~Rated~~
@HL, He is responsible for the sound of contemporary music....

@scanner, Agreed...........
Les was a remarkably talented, humble man and thank goodness he was content and still sharp as a tack to the end. He was truly a pioneer in the music industry and will always be remembered.

How High the Moon and RIP, Les Paul!
More than a diddley bow, the "log" was his first. I had a shot at a '56 gold ( my birth year) but that sunburst was way too cool to pass. Lester's spirit, and place in history will live forever, even if he had to leave this spinning ball!
We're always saying, "So-n-So ROCKS." Les was the Father of Rock, or at least the Ben Franklin of it~
