Where are the Rich Hiding ?

Another cold front’s uncurling across Florida and blowing hard; it’s licking up waves on the bay the size of manila envelopes and ripping open their papery tops. Same old shit.  I cursed the ugly sight out-loud and returned back inside my condo, pulling the sliding glass do

Obama Report: Final Chapter

newspaper

Mercifully, my interview on the Channel 4 News at Noon! was muted on the small flat screen television hanging behind the lunch counter.  I’d dragged in maybe five minutes when it came on.  I gave the waitress a very tired looking smile and I’d ordered a burger,/

Obama Report: Dangerous Tickets

A few seconds ago, the Gulf swallowed the sun. Now everywhere along the sidewalks and crawling up the building facades, sharp, black shadows are out marking their territory. But thing's are moving fast, the planet's gliding that short, snapping arc of wintertime

I'd been heading south on I-75 for almost two hours when I lifted onto the shallow arch of the Peace Bridge and was now flying over the Caloosahatchee River.  Fort Myers, Florida.  Dead ahead.

As pretty of an evening as you could ask for.  The

Troll at the Podium

I have no real explanation for this.  But the troll made it to the podium at Obama's Town Hall meeting.  I was far across the room,  saw the hair,  turned and fired a shot.  Then the troll was gone.

Start Your Day with Some Cool Pictures?

Sometimes people ask about the camera.  What they're usually thinking is, " this thing of mine would never take a picture like that."   But in fact, while I use a decent camera,  it's certainly no where near the exceptional standards you can find now for around 600 bucks.  I useRead full post »

Dropping the Hammer on Tony Snow

As I was scrolling through the 2008 Obituaries (of the famous and near famous),  I was reminded again that Fox News Reporter turned White House spokesman Tony Snow had died earlier this year from brain cancer. And, again, I was reminded how I’d felt when Mr. Snow died.
