Lazy lunch break

Rate: 10 Flag

Cold, damp, rainy day.

Enjoying my lunch break by a window.

Drinking a warm cup of coffee,

   watching

water drops drip off a tree limb

and a bird play with a worm in the dirt.

I like simple observations. They put my mind at ease.
Quite visual.

Jos. Conrad ("Heart of Darkness", etc.) said the object of all writing is "to make you see". He meant that literally. You succeed here nicely. r.
I am trying also to convey that although I am being lazy and still, by being still and silent, I am actually noticing alot of stuff going on at the tiniest levels; that in fact, life and the world, nature, is very busy, despite my stillness. We just need to be still and we can notice how busy the smaller things around us are. Water, birds, worms, wind, trees. Its actually just as hectic and chaotic as Wall Street and Las Vegas, if we only take the time to listen.

Our ego is the only thing getting in the way
Heehee. Stopping and smelling the roses.

All this time I thought there was some kind of law saying that you had to make Blog posts at least three pages down on the scroll!

Enjoy!
Yup. My sixth sense tells me you done seen the light. ;)
Very nice (: simple observations are always good - especially beautiful ones of nature, or people.
Mao would be proud.
"Cold, damp, rainy day"
(((shiver)))

"Drinking a warm cup of coffee"
(((Ahhh!)))
The bird wasn’t playing he was also having lunch. I think you would like Musashi Miyamoto, if you have not already read him.
The bird was playing with the worm?
Interesting choice of verb.
