Alan, in the U.S, most of the European Theater film stock is black and white because the Army signal corps requesitioned almost all of the available stock. This is why the U.S. Navy shot most of the Pacific Theater film in color. The Germans shot the bulk of their footage in color, but most of the color film stocks were destroyed.

I hope the rare surviving color footage gets professionally preserved.

Hitler's actual defeat came at the hands of another Socialist Joseph Stalin who destroyed Hitler's armies by deftly applying the same tactics that were used against Napoleon who was the last military genius of Hitler's caliber and maybe the only one since Caesar himself.

Jack, I have a bit of a different take on things than most. Looking at the classic definition of fascism, I see it as the end game of liberalism. (one could argue that the U.S. is a stereo fascist system in that the two parties restrict freedom and stifle opposition---so do we really have a two party system here or is it just one party masquerading as two?)

Liberals tend to have a limited fund of knowledge and fancy themselves as much smarter than they are. (I.E. they know better than anyone else what we need) So liberalism, as practiced, ends up in a totalitarian government. True conservatism, of which there is very little, is actually less limiting of individual freedom than liberalism as far as the general public is concerned. Liberal elitists (which are lackeys for the synagogue of satan crowd) wish to have no restrictions on themselves, whether it be drug usage, pedophilia, sex slavery, murder.....they want to do anything they want. If it feels good do it.

National Socialism, as practiced by the Nazis, incorporated elements of socialism and free market though limits were placed on the size of privately owned business, unless they were giving kickbacks to the Nazi elite.

Communism, as practiced, was slavery. The many eekingout a subsistence living while serving the elite. This is what most liberal elitists want for the U.S.

As far as your observation about the current state of liberalism in America I could not agree with you more. I have been a liberal all my life in the last few years I have decided socialism, a militant and aggressive form of socialism born in America is the only real solution to the ravages inflicted upon the global environment and economy by Social Darwinism , the crack pot “ideas” of William Graham Sumner and Laissez-Faire. What started out as a ugly growth has now metastasized to full blown corporate Globalism. The visible environmental damage like Global warming the recent disaster in the gulf and plundering of all usable land is only the tip of the iceberg. 7 billion people cannot be governed according to the whims of a few inbreed individuals whose only motivation is the acquisition of more and always more material goods. It is game over for the capitalist and if we don’t do it ourselves you can bet the earth is going to do it for us. It is also game over for democracy I have heard enough gibberish on OS about Democracy much of it from people who don’t even know how to shoot a gun that for a while I even considered not speaking my piece but I am over that now. Democracy simply means that every man has a vote, he has a vote because he also has a sword or in the twenty-first century's case an assault rifle like they do in Switzerland which is the only true Democracy (America is not even close and never was). Democracy can only work in limited populations that are extremely educated and also extremely war like. America fails miserably in every criteria but the last one. 7 billion people cannot govern themselves that is a recipe for environmental suicide. So since we are so warlike it falls on our shoulders to create a New World Order not the decadent self serving world order of the Bush’s but an order where 7 billion people can live in harmony with their environment and each other. An order that can sponsor the continuation of life on earth as we know it. The only way this can be achieved through any known form of government is through world wide socialism if necessary forced down the people of the earths throats at the tips of American bayonets.
