Well, I noticed that I'm coming up on the end of my third year on Open Salon.
I suppose I should feel more at home on conservative or WN sites, and they are all well and good, however, I find that I spend so much time on OS that it has caused some marital problems.
After three years, I find logging onto OS to be like sitting in front of a cozy fireplace. I can just chill out and relax and see the world. I can read about others travels, their various life stories or peruse some world class literature. The political and economic discussions are excellent as well.
Basically, If I want to know what's going on anywhere in America and in many foreign locales, I can just search OS. I've met some fine folks, and some a-holes, but things are what they are.
This site has had its ups and downs, some of the technical glitches and spam have been annoying, but on the whole, it's a good place to hang.
Hopefully, the Salon management won't screw up a good thing.

Maybe that's part of it Token.
“Nice writing.”
“Outstanding post."
“Thanks Shiral!!”
rwcupcake is more like it!
"Looking away is my only criticism," said Nietzsche once upon a time, and it's probably the deadliest form of criticism anyway.
I think I'll have to look up how long I've been here and do a retrospective. Or something.
I just hope more people get a clue.
This ain't a bad place to hang out. Not at all.
I admit I have agreed with you more than you might think.
I'll be celebrating three years in March, by the way. Maybe the editors should send us, like, a nice e-card or something on our anniversaries...?
