Enjoying Life In Tsawwassen

Rate: 0 Flag

A few of you probably know that I grew up in Tsawwassen, BC, a beachfront suburb of Vancouver that gives you the opportunity to enjoy life to its fullest. There are places to go, activities to engage in, and sights to see that are so versatile, the word "bored" should never be in the vocabulary of anyone living there, especially during the warmer months.

The summer season in Tsawwassen is full of activity. You can find an abundance of spring and summer entertainment and events right in the local Town Centre Mall. From May through September there is a weekly music series held from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM in the Breezeway. This is a great way to relax, enjoy lunch, and take a break from browsing through the many specialty shops located in the centre. Depending on the season, there are various other scheduled events in the centre such as "Wake Up Santa", "Children's Day", and "Come Meet the Witches". The Town Centre is a beautifully designed open-air public square with attractive features such as a gazebo, fountains, and artistic sculptures that make it a relaxing and inviting location to linger in.

Another popular family activity in Tsawwassen is outdoor movie night in Diefenbaker Park. Best of all, the event is totally free; all you have to do is load up the family and bring a blanket or chairs and a flashlight. This is an activity everyone from young children to senior citizens can enjoy, as the movies are usually family-friendly but not so childish as to alienate adults.

In August, the annual Sun Festival brings in a crowd of over 8,000 people. The three day event is filled with such a diverse array of activities that there really is something for everyone: a parade, fireworks, a midway for children, a BMX airshow, recreational events and competitions, an antique fair, a variety of music, food, fun, and lots more. This festival is one of the highlight events for Tsawwassen each year, and a great way for visitors to become acquainted with the town, its hotels, restaurants, and wonderful community.

During a visit to Tsawwassen, take some time to drive around the beautiful residential areas. From the smooth palm tree-lined streets of 56th St. to the scenic views and luxury homes of English Bluff, you may be so impressed with Tsawwassen real estate that you will begin contemplating a move there... You definitely wouldn't be the first person to fall in love with the community at first sight!

If you enjoy outdoor activities that bring you closer to nature and provide you with some breathtaking moments, a visit to Boundary Bay is sure to delight you. There are hiking trails that allow you to commune with nature, and you will have manye opportunities to observe birds in their natural habitat, from common seagulls to rare kinglets. Although this is a gem of an adventure for an avid birdwatcher or hiker, it is also an attractive location for anyone who is handicapped. Many times, there are not any opportunities for outdoor adventure for someone in a wheelchair, but here, you will find a picnic area and playground that is wheelchair accessible.

You can escape the stress of daily life with a visit to Centennial Beach. You can stroll along the beach and experience an amazingly wonderful sense of tranquility. Centennial Beach is a place for making memories with those you love, whether on the sand or in the waves. It is a peaceful, beautiful location where your mind and body will enjoy the reprieve from daily obligations. There is no charge for absorbing the tranquility here, as it is public land. There is even a wonderful playground area for children and a beach cafe for snacks.

This is just a sample of the many spring and summer events you can enjoy on a visit to Tsawwassen. It is definitely a place to put on your vacation list, and maybe even on your "places I'd like to live" list!
