Senator Lisa Murkowski was invited to speak at the Alaska Pride Conference.  Instead, she chose to speak at the Anchorage Baptist Temple and to praise the great and godly Rev. Jerry Prevo.

She did this because she is a coward.  If she had the strength of her convictions she would have shown up at the Pride Conference and defended her support of a filibuster against the repeal of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’s in the Senate. . . (not just the bill’s final passage either, but also against even debating repeal).

But that was okay, because she was “busy”.  She was busy heaping praise on one of the most homophobic people in Alaska.  A person who actually BRAGS about  how instrumental he has been in preventing equality for  LGBTQ people.

This is the man that Senator Murkowski blew off the Alaskan LGBTQ community to praise:

Back to Ms. Coward…  while she was there telling everyone how this hate filled, bigoted promoter of bigotry is such a swell guy, she had the audacity to toss in this little gem about another wonderful man (in her eyes at least):

“And Pastor, I want to thank you from a very personal note for what you did to celebrate the life of a great Alaskan. It was here in this church that Alaskans and people around the country paid tribute to a great Alaskan, Ted Stevens. “

That’s right…  praise for a man so corrupt that even members of his own party called for him to resign in disgrace.  Even that paragon of virtue, Jim DeMint, announced he would do his best to have Stevens removed from the Republican Caucus.

So not only is Ms. Murkowski a coward who refuses to discuss her beliefs and actions with those they affect, not only is she a supporter and advocate of hate and bigotry, but she is also a person that embraces and praises the most corrupt of politicians.
