Ah, "Blazing Saddles"! One of my favorite movies and one of the best satirical pieces on bigotry and hate ever written.
In this scene the Mayor of Rock Ridge talks about how he and the "school marm" have worked to deal with their "problem".
(only watch about the first 40 seconds)
Now watch the first 40 seconds of the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Phoenix as he espouses the bigotry and hate exemplified by the Catholic Church because St. Joesph's hospital had the temerity to save a woman's life.
If you listen further you'll also get to hear him discribe the great horrors of St. Joe's committing the egregious sin of providing condoms and birth control too (listen to how he can't even pronounce "condom" - that cracked me up! ;) )

But the two videos are strikingly similar. Good catch there.
Cancerous uterus? Is that what it takes to get an abortion?
Ex-communicate her!
Violations of the directives!
Let me explain.
Mercy care plan?
back to the ethical directives.
contraceptive counseling? DO NOT USE CONTRACEPTION!
admitted to evil actions? condooms?
decree decree! NOT CATHOLIC. God forbid.
Thank you.
I hope you and your girls are going to have a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS Amy!!

Never spill seed into the flesh of any other than a choir boy.
Those frock buttons ought to go up past his filthy, hate filled mouth.
Here's a pic of him in
THE RECTUMRY
Take this as it was meant
Are you absolutely CERTAIN that the objection to the sheriff wasn't that his last name wasn't “Johnson?”
As to the Catholic Church.
All us protestants have known since Martin Luther that those people (Catholic Church) are the Whore of Babylon and represent the Anti-Christ.
As to Jackass Fundamentalist Protestants who align themselves with the Catholic Church, (even though as protestants they should know better) They've missed the whole point of “PROTESTant”
You go to hell in your own hand basket, no one else's.
As a “putative” Pentecostal Christian ( I know what that means, not many others do)
I believe Christ came to teach us that you make your own communication with God,
(Or deal with the Devil)
It is no one else's business.
Want help to understand?
We'll give it to you.
Want “condemnation” and Forgiveness for your sins?
You have to forgive yourself.
Want love as a fellow human being?
That's the only thing Christ told us to do
The Good Bishop may as well try to order back the waves, as Excommunicate me from my God.
As such he is an object of Humor
And a certain amount of Pity
Be Larger than he is
Don't Hate.
Anyway, hugs.
awful..:(
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU TOO AND YOURS..
LOVE AND MUCH HUGS

Blazing Saddles was super funny and still is. I would like to see a remake with Obama playing the part of the sheriff and the Republican side of the Senate playing the rest of the parts. Then you could see them act out their true bigoted selves.
Merry Christmas!
Happy New Year in spite of them.
If you believe that human life begins at conception, then you believe that voluntarily allowing a human fetus to die is the moral equivalent of allowing what we would define as a human being to die and, by extention, killing a fetus voluntarily is the moral equivalent of killing what we would define as a human being voluntarily - i.e. murder or at least manslaughter.
The position of defining human life as beginning at conception is one that, to me, doesn't make a whole lot of sense for a variety of reasons. In addition to the oddities of defining a microscopic clump of cells as a person and of not recognizing, say, pre-conception sperm cells as potential human lives (the vast majority of which die even during successful conception as a result of the way we were presumably designed by our Creator), there are the behavioral inconsistencies, such as the fact that I've never heard of a funeral service for a miscarriage (though I may just be ill-informed). There is, further, the more than distinct possibility that defining human life as beginning at conception may owe more to males wanting to exert more control over the carrying of children to term than to compassion for the unborn.
All that being said: If that's your case, make it. I wouldn't advise simply assuming it. This guy is following Church doctrine and probably believes he's divinely obligated to do exactly what he's doing; he may very well be acting quite literally out of conscience. Failing to recognize his issue may mobilize the troops but it won't shake any of the opposition loose. To have a prayer of doing that (sorry about that choice of words), you have to make your case.
Well, maybe you DO know, being one yourself.
Surely some accommodation could have been reached. The church hierarchy continues to distance itself from the 21st century.
In fact, with the last two popes it has actually regressed.
