Hockey Mom Makes Moose Meat of Sarah Palin

[This sometimes shows as a video inside a video and I can't seem to fix it, so if it does that, just click on the rotating arrow inside the smaller window and it will enlarge to normal size. Sorry.]

This came to me from a friend with whom I used to work in Politics, with a Capital P.
I'm tellin' ya, yer really gonna like this singing Hockey Mom. Honest to goodness, I think she's just cute as a button.

Philly is a city of serious sports fans with seriously strong feelings. A lot of the city's residents are Black. A lot of them --especially Flyers fans--are blue collar Plumbers and Hockey Moms.

Most of them booed Sarah Palin when she dropped by Philly to "drop the puck" to start the Philadelphia Flyers hockey game against the New York Rangers.

I hope that's a sign.

That is too funny! It is beyond all words. Bravo!
Awesome! Proof that the arts are firmly behind the "Anti-American" movement.
Maybe this Oct. 29 OS post won't have the technical problem.
Ha - it was a sign that the Rangers totalled the Flyers that game. A portent, I hope, of November 4.

Rated/appreciated.
I'm definitely not a Republican or a supporter of the McCain-Palin ticket. However, the song dragged on way too long, and the singer can't sing worth a dime. There must be a better way for those of us on the left to express our opposition to what would essentially be a third Bush term.

Rodger Schlickeisen, president of Defenders of Wildlife Action Fund, says:

“Senator McCain’s choice for a running mate is beyond belief. By choosing Sarah Palin, McCain has clearly made a decision to continue the Bush legacy of destructive environmental policies.

“Sarah Palin, whose husband works for BP (formerly British Petroleum), has repeatedly put special interests first when it comes to the environment. In her scant two years as governor, she has lobbied aggressively to open up the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge to drilling, pushed for more drilling off of Alaska’s coasts, and put special interests above science. Ms. Palin has made it clear through her actions that she is unwilling to do even as much as the Bush administration to address the impacts of global warming. Her most recent effort has been to sue the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to remove the polar bear from the endangered species list, putting Big Oil before sound science. As unbelievable as this may sound, this actually puts her to the right of the Bush administration.

“This is Senator McCain’s first significant choice in building his executive team and it’s a bad one. It has to raise serious doubts in the minds of voters about John McCain’s commitment to conservation, to addressing the impacts of global warming and to ensuring our country ends its dependency on oil.”

Back in the early '90s, George Bush Sr. referred to environmentalists as "the spotted owl crowd," thus indirectly making it clear that Republicans don't understand environmentalism. "And (yet) they call themselves 'pro-life'," mused Fox News' token liberal commentator Alan Colmes a few years ago.

I am disheartened by Sarah Palin's record on the environment, endangered species, and ties to Big Oil, but not surprised. She is, after all, a conservative Republican, running for VP on a Republican ticket.

To her credit, Sarah Palin is a member of Feminists For Life, an organization that is both pro-woman AND pro-life. Feminists For Life was founded in 1972, when the National Organization for Women (NOW) expelled all its pro-life members, in order to stifle dissent on the abortion issue.

I wish we pro-life Dems (a political minority) had the kind of visibility within our own Party that pro-choice Republicans (also a political minority) have in theirs.
This says it all! Tell me Palin's not a Bush clone. This goes for the mispronunciation of nuclear from both of them. Illiterate - there's a word for you!
Absolutely the BEST of this election season!!! You sentiments are perfection. Your voice is heavenly. And my God!!! Where did you ever find such a great pianist?

Here's hoping for a GREAT Obama future!!
That's just too darned funny. Cheers to the hockey mom with the great sense of humor and good politics! By the way, I think she has a great amateur singing voice.
Most wonderful, you two. Thanks!
Clever and funny! Thanks for a great laugh first thing on Sunday morning, Sally.
Hilarious Sally, hilarious.
That was great.
I like the subtlety of the "Blues" jersey.

I don't need to analyze is.
I just want to ENJOY it.

She shoots!!
She scores!!

Thank you, Sining Hockey Mom for a really neat video.

We WILL knock mcinsane/failin out of the playoffs!!
Since we cannot edit our comments, I need to make a double post.
It S/B SINGING, not sining.
It was not Freudian, it was merely a typo so, don't bother to anal~yze it.lol
I'm sorry, but humorous as some parts of this might be, I was offended. Asserting that Sarah Palin in the White House would be more scary than Al Qaeda is illogical and offensive.
cruel and unusual punishment ,that is wath you all did to Bush,Palin,McClain we don't even do that to jail people, you all would have a fit.
Bravissima! And yes, the line about Sarah Palin being scarier than Al Queda is spot on with all her religious fanaticism, waiting for end times indeed.
Being intelligent, artistic, and out-spoken is not anti-American, but perhaps wanting to quiet the intelligent is?!
Thanks to all who enjoyed as much as I did. We do need some comic relief in the midst of the building tension.

Vasu, though I don't agree with some of your personal views, I respect your right to state them... but perhaps your comment went on too long? You have a lot to say, maybe more valuable as a post of your own. Plus, this is a YouTube satirical video, not a Broadway production, and I was impressed with the range of her untrained but sweet voice.

Derek, oh please, I don't want to go back to the whole New Yorker cover debate, I didn't even blink at the Al Qaeda line precisely because it was so preposterous, isn't that the point of satire?

Bill, thanks a lot for the reminder re Rangers/Flyers. Flyers won last week and the PHILLIES WON THE WORLD SERIES. Oh, sorry, we can't seem to stop saying that here.

Ron, her Hockey Jersey bears quite a resemblance to the Phila Flyers logo. And btw, we don't "anal~yze" you here on OS -- we pick your carcass to pieces! ;)

Sylvia, I'm not totally clear on what point you're trying to make, but I think you're a McCain/Palin supporter, did I get that part right?
Thanks Sally and thanks to the hockey mom!
I think this woman speaks for all of us!
That was simply splendid!
This video made my day, month and year. Hope it goes viral!!!! Thanks Sally
fab-u-lous! thanks for pulling it out of the teeming mass o'web for us.
"I am a thinker, and your a dipstick"

Marvelous throughout. The song was excellent, NOT too long, beautifully done.

Thumbified with smiles.
BRAVISSIMOM...I loved it too ...
Sarah Palin only speaks for a very small number of women in the US, women who are rigid, close-minded and too afraid to think outside the very very closed box of zealotry, bigotry and/or fear.
Thank you! I enjoyed the WHOLE song!
Hilarious! And she certainly has a better voice than I do.
I must admit I thought it was soooo funny. Her voice wasn't that bad. I can hear her singing in a church.
Seriously, this was brilliant! The BEST all season and on target on oh sooo many levels! The skeptics who don't get satire need to move to Alaska where I am sure they will fit in . . . and leave more room in the other 48 states! Thrilled and relieved beyond belief that they did NOT make it into 1600 White House Way . . .
... then she went west and congratulated Steeler/Pirates country on winning the World Series... (more boos)

(um, Philadelphia Phillies won the Series. The West won't root for them, generally speaking)
Hahahahahaha! FANTASTIC! I had to remove myself from blogging until after the election because of Palin and I am still trying to stay away from all the politics, but this one I just couldn't resist. Fabuloso! And I love the piano player! Hahahahaha... this just made my day. THANK YOU!!!! :)
Bullwinkle lives!!! How did I miss this? My songwriter genes are lovin' it to the nth degree! And now I have the added luxury of knowing the vacuous airhead went down to defeat. But I fear she will rise again from the murky depths of fundie christendom.

Also, comparing this to the Puff the Magic Negro, the gaping chasm between what passes for wit on the right and what is genuine wit on the left is once more made manifest.
