Holy Toledo Batman, Robin, and Poison Ivy, she's coming to TV:Former Gov. Sarah Palin of Alaska has signed on as a contributor to the Fox News Channel.
The network confirmed that Ms. Palin will appear on the network’s programming on a regular basis as part of a multi-year deal. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Ms. Palin will not have her own regular program, one person familiar with the deal said, though she will host an occasional series that will run on the network from time to time. This person would not elaborate, but the network does have a precedent for such a series. Oliver L. North is the host of an occasionally running documentary series on the military called “War Stories.” [NYT]Is there any way that this won't be a train wreck? I mean -- you could look at this as a major television network offering a woman who seems to struggle with the truth (and words and making sense) a gigantic platform from which to misinform people. That, however, would be discounting the value of the awesome entertainment I'll be getting from just the reporting about this show. Bear hunts? Helicopter liberal shooting parties? Household tips? The possibilities are endless. If it doesn't fly on Fox, maybe she could replace Jay Leno. I'd laugh.
I assume the show will be called, "If Ya Can't Beat 'Em," and I am willing to bet money -- if I had it, that'd be a more meaningful bet -- that this will be the funniest thing since Laser Cats, and just about as likely to cause national doom and terror.

Paddy Chayefsky just screamed in his grave....
Lonnie, I thought the same thing.
I wish I could agree I think it'll be a disaster, but the woman is capable of reading off a teleprompter. It's unfortunate, but there it is.
Bingo!
I might have to start watching TeeVee again, or at least her clips on YouTube. ;~)
Fox still has not dumped Glenn Beck, preferring to lose money on the clown, so she will be in the best position ever...for the good of the nation.
Her habitual lying and her histrionic nature will serve to expose her for the meglomaniac and fraud that she is. The problem is that she will only be viewed by the extremist nut cases and media wonks that actually get their news (or comedy research) from Fox.
I just wonder how she and the other meglomaniacs will get along!
And can Michelle Bachmann be far behind -- hopefully.
Being a beautiful woman, Palin will surely fit in on Fox and will equally surely incur the wrath of homely women everywhere.
I assume those that raise the teleprompter issue are no longer supporting our illustrious leader, Barack Obama. And while we're on the subject, Palin is not a liar , coward, or racist.
The most reliable polls have Palin outdistancing Obama, Reid, and Pelosi. Al Gore's book sold in numbers not even the square root of Palin's. All the uber-liberal bitchiness won't alter those facts.

Palin the Ass is but a tool being used to spread mis-truths. Faux Skews also hired Karl Rove, if you remember.
and nice of you to start off with "typical liberal response" or a "no true Scotsman" fallacy.
That you see nothing at issue with the statement that a "beautiful woman" would be "at home on Fox" (because that's the only criterion for a woman there) is just as telling of your reasoning skills as the presumption that less comely women would hate her for that - and only that. (along with the implied presumption that anyone who hates her is ugly, and the circular reasoning that they only hate her out of jealousy)
Palin the Ass is like a psychic - doesn't matter how many times what she says isn't true ("stopped clock"), people line up in droves to believe it because they_want_ to.
... why then, she'll be just like everyone else on Pox News.
Meanwhile, Fox is guaranteed an audience, made up of fans and detractors alike. Sponsors will be clamoring for space, Conan will make the leap and the "fourth" network may soon find itself at the number one position.
Hell of a train ride, I'd say.
Good heavens, if Conan defects, will anyone watch any other channel
yeah, I actually can't say this is a certain disaster. They'll fluff her and help her in every way possible. And given how outrageously people talk over at Fox already, how different will she be?
My prediction: She'll be a huge hit with her target audience, a la Beck, even if the rest of us think she's embarrassing herself.
I used to work in a book store.
Palin saw a void and moved in to fill it. She has a lot of street smarts. She took her moment of fame as VP canidate and grew it into something that could keep her in the spotlight for decades. It beats working for a living.
And why on earth would you be concerned who will do her hair and supply her clothes? I don't get it.
Or maybe he presidency also.
Two horses of the apocalypse all by herself!
And so it begins.
As for God's Plan, judging by the results His Plan must have been to preserve us from another elderly bad-tempered white man, and give a career boost to Tina Fey.
At least for the time being.
Thx for saving me $30 a month. I ain't touchin' that with a ten foot pole!
I will never watch Sarah Palin because I have a weak stomach, but that's also why I don't watch anyone else on Fox; they all turn my stomach.
I have a moderately strong regard for the truth, and an increasing fear that we are losing our capacity to recognize truth when we see it.
Far from this being a train wreck for Fox, which doesn't care about anything other than it's owner's political views, this is a brilliant strategy for rehabilitating a laughably ignorant (notice I said ignorant, not stupid) politician so that when her time comes around - and that will be 2016, not 2012 - she will become the unstoppable Republican frontrunner on her way to the nomination and the presidency.
By then, we will have forgotten her faux pas and her missteps in the 2008 campaign, and her delivery will be so polished that we will elect a blatantly manufactured candidate without ever knowing who has his hand stuck up her ass, pulling her strings from the inside out.
The misinformation and disinformation spouting through the Fox channel is already seriously distorting our perceptions of reality, with O'Reilly and Beck being the most heinous offenders, riling up their viewers, taking Obama to task for things over which the man has no control, fanning the fires around Harry Reid's innocent comments, giving Britt Hume further opportunities to insult the entire Buddhist community in the name of their sickening, pathetic, bogus Christianity.
There's nothing funny about Palin's admission to this particular Boy's Club. It portends further twists of truth into unrecognizable pretzels.
Don't you like the way that the mention of Gov. Palin makes the people here foam at the mouth like a rabid FOX?
"And why on earth would you be concerned who will do her hair and supply her clothes? I don't get it."
It's called the green-eyed monster, JK.
The notion that her book is not selling well is the ultimate exercise in reality denial. When a book price comes down, it's a clear indication that the publisher can make its profit from volume, which is clearly the case with "Rogue."
That's what I like about Obama. He never uses a teleprompter and gives regular press conferences--like last July!

Thanks, Nancy. This is, of course, the question that dares not speak its answer.
There is so much wrong with SP that it would take reams of paper just to list...thanks for writing this.
We don't want to overwork her.
Has anyone looked at Stewart's and Colbert's ratings? Members of their immediate families are starting to click off.
