My Ole' Dog Gus~

Rate: 20 Flag

This was a stupid old poem I put up almost two years ago, on June 4, 2009.  It is Flashback Saturday, right?

My Dog Gus

well i  got a dog

he's one ugly muther'

keep him in the corner

under the covers

he's blind as a bat

can't see can't smell

gotta' kick him in the ass

to see if he's well

ain't got but three legs

and one damn ear

always behind my car

when i'm drinkin' my beer

he ain't got no hair

slick as a babies ass

smells like shit

when he's passing gas

lost his tail

boys swingin' him round'

he must not care

don't make much sound

he don't eat too much

we feed him scrapes

but he's always shittin'

in one my all my ole' caps

he ain't worth the bullet

it would take to kill

he's never seen a vet

can't afford the bill

we was gonna' put him

out of his hurtin'

buy my crazy ole' lady

loves him for certain

guess i'll keep him

he ain't much fuss

just call him for dinner

or call him ole' Gus

Maybe Gus can give OS a kick in the butt as it is running like an old dog this morning.

Poor baby, I just wanted to pet him and give him a treat.

This gentle old fellow is lucky to have a home where he is allowed to live out his days in peace.

do you still have your current dog? i hope so
Great re-post Scanner. A great read.
The love is there, with every mangy detail.
Sounds exactly like my friend's dog she grew up with, three legs and all. He embarrassed her, but I thought he was sweet. It doesn't have to look pretty to be worth a damn.
Poor old Guss. Cute poem, Scanman.
