The Blood of Tyrants (BULLSHIT UPDATE)

Rate: 25 Flag

OBAMA IS NOT GOING TO DO WHAT? BULLSHIT!!

On December 16, Obama's signature will head America closer to full-blown tyranny.

Obama supports draconian FY 2012 National Defense Authorization Act provisions. Justification given is national security and war on terror hokum.

Henceforth, anyone anywhere, including US citizens, may be indefinitely held without charge or trial, based solely on suspicions, spurious allegations or none at all.

No reasonable proof is needed, just suspicions that those detained pose threats. Henceforth, indefinite detentions can follow mere membership (past or present) or support for suspect organizations.

Presidents now have unchecked dictatorial powers to arrest, interrogate and indefinitely detain law-abiding citizens if accused of potentially posing a threat.

Constitutional, statute and international laws won't apply. Martial law will replace them if so ordered.

As a result, US military personnel anywhere in the world may arrest US citizens and others, throw them in military dungeons, and hold them indefinitely outside constitutionally mandated civil protections, including habeas rights, due process, and other judicial procedures.

In other words, presidents may order anyone arrested and imprisoned for life without charge or trial. Tyranny arrived in America. Abuse of power replaced rule of law protections.

Even someone erroneously arrested and cleared of wrongdoing could be held indefinitely without charge, given non-civil trials, none at all, or, for

The president, along with our elected senators and congressmen in Washington, D.C., are in the process of signing a bill into law that will allow anyone to be jailed without being charged with a crime, and without the right to see a lawyer. This is contained in a provision of S. 1867, the National Defense Authorization Act bill.

All because we may know a guy, that knows a girl, that may have known someone, who brushed up against a person, who knew another person, who knew someone, who may have trained with the Taliban. It is happening now, right under our noses and no one seems to care. Our supposedly liberal president is not only going to sign the bill, he’s pushing for it to become law. This is tyranny my friends, and we are now at the beginning of something that can be as easily abused as a cop fixing a speeding ticket for a friend.

9-11, the worst act of terrorism in our nation’s history, brought us the Patriot Act, a bill written very quickly that took away many of the rights Americans have fought for since the Revolutionary War. That was one thing, time was critical and there was an attack on own homeland. But, why was it renewed? We have destroyed Al Qaeda and it is no longer a threat to this country. Homeland terrorists are a much larger threat to Americans. Yet, they are ready to pass a law that takes away our right to be informed of why we are being arrested. A law that can prevent a lawyer from being present while we are being interrogated? We are American citizens, yet this law says they do not even have to tell us why we are being detained.

Imagine walking down a street as a van pulls up, kidnaps you and puts you into a small cell for six months, or even a year. Imagine not knowing why you are there. To be implicated, all it would take is someone disliking you, much like the Salem Witch Trials, and accusing you of doing something wrong. You would then have to prove your innocence, even though our Constitution says you are innocent until proven guilty. Yes, if this law passes, you must prove you are innocent, if you are lucky enough to be told what you are being arrested for. This is insane and must be stopped.

It is common knowledge there are 600 fully staffed and ready to be occupied, FEMA prisons camps. Why do we have them and who are they for? They are rumored to be readying space for 20 million people to be confined. Again, why are they doing this and who are they planning on putting in these prisons? I have seen no overtly violent protests anywhere. The OWS has for the most part been peaceful. Did they hit a nerve somewhere? Are they frightening people in high places, people who may have broken laws and are too rich and important to go to jail themselves? Am I being paranoid?

Where is the outrage over this bill? The Tea Party conservatives, who go on and on about less government and socialism, are not standing up and being counted on this issue. This bill is stripping a basic right that our founding fathers have written into our Bill of Rights for a reason. Thomas Jefferson himself said, “The Bill of Rights is what the people are entitled to against every government, and what no just government should refuse, or rest on inference.” He also said “The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.” If this bill becomes law, and we as citizens do nothing to stop it, we deserve everything that happens to us!

“Experience hath shewn, that even under the best forms (of government) those entrusted with power have, in time, and by slow operations, perverted it into tyranny”
~Thomas Jefferson

“The spirit of resistance to government is so valuable on certain occasions that I wish it to be always kept alive.”
~Thomas Jefferson

INSANE.. its Orwell all over again. One day you are here and the next you are not.
HUGGGGGGGGGGG
I'd need to see the text of this bill.

rated for raising the issue.
So much for Obama's veto threat. Can the man never stand his ground?
"in the process of signing a bill" . . . ?????

really - you have a link for this? It's not in your post.

i don't believe this bill has been signed, will be signed, or does any of the draconian things you allude to.
Scanner the bill gives authorization to detain "covered" persons. If you haven't read the bill take a minute to go to page 426 of the bill it's Section D or thereabouts. It will give you a better understanding of what the bill entails and who the "covered" parties are. It's not at all an American Take hostage and detain free for all. I think you can breathe easy. ;-)
Here's a PDF link.

Thanks Linda. Maybe we'll be in the same camp, hah!
Jon, this really surprised me, and it also surprised me that Obama is not going to veto it. Unless the democrats and republicans, who believe in less government, come to their senses, this may be law. it's crazy!
Phyllis, he is really disappointing me more everyday. I pray for a legitimate third party!
I've been aware that FEMA has made its preparations for concentration camps since the REX 84 operations under the Reagan administration, and it's been said that these programs have continued under every administration since then. However, this video footage is the first solid documentation of what a real US government concentration camp looks like in the 21st Century.

The narrator forgot to mention that the loudspeakers on site are also a factor in crowd control.

This is 100% true evidence of how far down the Alice in Wonderland rabbit hole this sorry ass country has fallen.

The government, only has to "say" you are a terrorist, or know a terrorist to detain you. Who is in charge of that? This is the first steps, along with the rights that the Patriot Act have already taken away, to giving government the right to detain anyone they please. I read article after article, and unless something changed this morning, what I wrote is true.
I am stunned that so few people seem to be aware of this.

I did a blog on it , taken from Business Insider, on Nov. 30 - Two weeks ago!!! It is here:

http://www.businessinsider.com/secret-bill-to-be-voted-on-today-would-allow-the-military-to-sweep-up-us-citizens-at-home-or-abroad-2011-11?comments_page=2#ixzz1fB3yFoIS

.
There is plenty of outrage over this bill Scanner the rednecks are already locked and loaded.

Dahlia Lithwick is claiming in a recent article in Slate:

http://www.slate.com/authors.dahlia_lithwick.html

"The secretary of defense, the director of national intelligence, the director of the FBI, the CIA director, and the head of the Justice Department's national security division have all said that the indefinite detention provisions in the bill are a bad idea. And the White House continues to say that the president will veto the bill if the detainee provisions are not removed."

And on the other hand we have the author of this little piece of treason Carl Levin “United States” Senator from Michigan and Chairman of the Senate Committee on Armed Services screaming: “ It was Obama who required the bill have the language of U.S. Citizens being held without rights in the bill! The only reason he would veto it, is because it does not give him the absolute power as he wants!”

http://sherriequestioningall.blogspot.com/2011/12/senator-levin-revealed-it-was-obama-who.html

Paul Craig Roberts probably has the best take on the whole issue as usual:

http://www.opednews.com/a/142302?show=votes#allcomments

But then again I like the redneck take on it “Gentleman keep your powder dry”
Sky, I was aware of it, but was also aware it was supposed to be taken out of the finished bill. It isn't. And now I read, that Obama not only isn't going to veto it, he is supporting it. This must be stopped, we are really getting close to have our rights stripped away, and no one seems to be aware of it.
If you read the article in Forbes ( second link above) you will see that the Udall Amendment, which would have limited the military's ability to do this, was DEFEATED!!!!

The only one now who can stop this "beginning of the end" atrocious legislation, is Mr. Obama. I've got $10 that says he will sign it into law.

This is from Time Magazine, three hours ago:

http://swampland.time.com/2011/12/13/crunch-time-for-defense-authorization-and-military-detention/

The White House is worried it does not take "enough" of our rights away!
@ Old New Lefty: its gone even further than that this is the latest outrage:

http://oathkeepers.org/oath/2011/12/08/oath-keepers-alert-federal-agents-demand-customer-lists-from-mormon-food-storage-facility/
Hahaha. Bitter bitter laugh, " I'm mad as hell but taking it up the ass."

This is happening already . Please check out my last two posts, Scanner.
Just dis a corrupt cop and find yourself in hell. You'll get wisdom and misery resembling hell on earth, but not even an editors pick.
Very very glad to see a post about this friend.
And thanks for the links.

Honest, if we don't stand up and scream, we will all find out we have nothing to say anymore since that right, too, will be taken away.

I tremble to think our very own government is the biggest terrorist now.
Yet it is....
Nothing changes until a couple hundred thousand well armed folks burn down a city or two.

Everyone remembers MLK. But change came with Malcolm and Stokley.

R
good work. but i still consider it more part of the bush legacy than obama's and am deeply distressed he has embraced this aspect of the con agenda. It's roots in my estimation are political on his part, not ideological, reasoning that it is better to cut them off at the pass then let him them label him weak on national security. it shows just how tenuous his position is and how little he feels he can count on liberal support.
Ben, what really bothers me, is not only Obama and the democrats, but the conservatives who go on and on about a smaller government, and socialism and what have you, but they are the first in line to sign the bill. This pisses me off and why the rest of this country is not up in arms is a mystery to me!
The bill hasn't been passed, nor has Obama backed down (yet) from his vow to veto it if it is approved in its current form.

That said, I find it difficult to believe that 600 covert prison camps (800 in some reports), fully staffed, are scattered around the US without more people knowing. I have no idea about the veracity of that video, but some footage and stills have been debunked.

http://tinyurl.com/23gge2r

I can tell you this: The erosion of your 4th Amendment rights has already begun, even without this POS legislation. No one is paying attention:

http://tinyurl.com/5tqfm9s

Seems the only amendment that's truly holy is the right to bear arms. Can't figure that, since guns kill ten times as many people in the US every year as did the 9/11 terrorists:

http://tinyurl.com/4tecpv5

Furthermore, if your Congress thinks it has the right to kidnap citizens of other countries in those countries, as *seems* to be the case with this proposed bill, it has another think coming. At least I sincerely hope so. Don't think even the rightwing doofuses in Ottawa would put up with that.
Ask the Koch brothers. Ask Dick Cheney. They know what the prison camps are for.
The 10 Ridiculous Things That Make You a Terror Suspect

http://www.opednews.com/populum/linkframe.php?linkid=142749

Are you a "terrorist sympathizer". Pack your bags, if the government thinks your are. Maybe a neighbor saw some "brown people" go into your house, that look kind of "Iranish"? First the they came for....,
Scanner, let me assure you that you are not alone in questioning this bill, which I would not have believed could be real had I not heard about the uproar it is causing on the radio. The head of the FBI, of all people, is very against this bill. I kind of laughed at that.

I bet he feels the military is stepping on FBI toes because it would be the military, not the FBI in charge of this craziness.

I don't like the bill, or the ideal of a bill that would allow people to be arrested just because. It is a thing of nightmares.

I need to go now. The hubby is ready to leave for Wally World and we still have weeding to do at the court house before we head back home today.

Hugs.
And the republicans will still don't like him. R
"national security" trumps anything else. this is amerika. nobody wants to be the one who sets the bad guy free. better to kill 'em or let 'em rot. it's standard issue for the repugs and as long as obama has to court moderates because he can't rely on liberal solidarity, he will. he's what's called a "politician," for better or worse.
Deja vu all over again. If rumors about military detention for dissidents and about these camps deter a couple thousand demonstrators from hitting the streets, the bill will have served its purpose. Of course, if things heat up stateside, Obama and his boys will be ready. I can't wait to see what President Gingrich will do with this setup. Take the toys from the boys, like I always say.

Rated.
Thanks for airing this issue scanner. It's hard to believe that the oppressive version of the bill will be enacted, but I guess we'll know soon enough.
It is going to be a tough fight Scanner, but several million pissed off gun owners and several hundred thousand WN's are just about ready to kick some ass:

OMG the freedom we have taken for granted all these years might be coming to an end. Where is our Superman?
Maybe Superman is you and you just do not realize it yet? Please let it be so.
Like so much of the crap going on in our world today, it is happening, brazenly, in front of our eyes, and the truth of it is too horrifying to swallow. I have spoken to many on this subject in the last 6 months, and always the response has been "Naw, you're over-reacting. IF there are such places, it's only for real terrorists, and for our own protection."

None have taken me up on my offer to show them the articles and videos I have seen.

Folks will not believe until they, or at least their neighbors, begin to disappear - and all because someone...anyone...pointed a finger at them. This kind of power in anyone's hands is guaranteed to corrupt! Makes me grateful that most folks seem to like me, but it doesn't help me sleep at night!
I'll be watching closely to see if Obama signs, and praying he doesn't. Thanks for a much-needed post, scanner. R
Scanner, I, like you, am scared to death of what these camps are and the reason for them. I know though that they weren't designed with OWS in mind because they were already in place long before OWS ever hit the scene. At the time I write this, I see that Obama really did sign this bill. Gulp! All I can say is this country is in big trouble. And for some to claim that this bill can't be used in nefarius ways all I can say is that you are very naive. In Calif. they use a law aimed at keeping fruit vendors from setting up stands along the freeways to prosecute homeless people who attempt to fly signs at the top of an offramp. I know I've been tagged twice for just this.
I am Stretch, it is not a stretch of the imagination, for them to come after all us poor folk!

Change we can believe in? I'm sorry. No matter who runs for office, there will never be change. Democrat? Republican? Libertarian? Tea Party? Progressive? All are easily bought by corporations and sold to the lowest bidder. We are the commodity.
