I Wish I Was a Starfish 

I wish I was a Starfish

sitting in a tree

staring down at people

staring up at me

If I was a was a Starfish

and you were a Starfish girl

I would find an oyster

and give you the pretty pearl

and If I was a Starfish

we would find a park and play

you and I would find a swing

and we could swing all day

and If I was  a Starfish

and you were my sweetheart

I would never leave your side

and we would never part

and If I was a Starfish

I'd give you a diamond ring

we could dress up at night

and go and dance and sing

if I was a Starfish

flying through the air

I would take you with me

and we'd never have a care

and If was a Starfish

with you as my best friend

we could laugh and play

until the day would end

I may never be a Starfish

but it never hurts to wish

maybe I'll wish tomorrow

that we're both a Jellyfish
