Despite our many differences of opinion, I'm sure there is one thing that Sarah Palin and I could agree on: a domestic terrorist (i.e. one who encourages violence against the government or the citizens of the U.S.) should not be given a national audience on mainstream, public airwaves. That's why I'm requesting that you join me in contacting the Saturday Night Live studio and asking them not to have Sarah Palin on their show.
Sarah Palin a domestic terrorist? What???
Well, maybe Palin herself isn't one, but she does "pal around" with them. Dozens, perhaps hundreds, of them.
You see, when Sarah Palin started suggesting that Barack Obama is a domestic terrorist because he served on two of the same nonprofits boards as Bill Ayers, a professor at the distinguished University of Illinois at Chicago and former 60's radical, the crowd began to shout things like "kill him" in regards to Obama. At some rallies the angry mob, I mean Palin's supporters, even began a chant of "kill baby kill", a play on their previous chant of "drill baby drill." Meanwhile Palin and her staff did nothing to discourage the crowd from such comments and chants. Instead, Palin gave one of her trademark folksy "Aww shucks… you guys!" expressions.
Now if you, I, or anyone else made a threat against a Presidential candidate, even in jest, the Secret Service would take it very seriously. It's kind of like how you can't joke about a bomb at the airport. In some situations and places, the joke is just not funny.
By applying Palin's flawless logic, because she associates with these people, even in a very indirect way, she must be a domestic terrorist herself. Therefore we must act according to the wisdom she has passed down to all of us and demand that 1) she explain her association to these people (even if she already has; apparently it has to be done over and over again), and 2) call or e-mail SNL in order to deny her a national audience where she can spread her terrorist ideas.
I'm serious about contacting SNL and so are a lot of other people. Let's give Palin a taste of her own medicine. Simply call or e-mail the following and say something like:
"Because Sarah Palin has refused to disassociate herself from or discourage her supporters who have been shouting threats like 'kill him' in regards to Barack Obama at her rallies, I am respectfully asking that you refuse to have her on Saturday Night Live."
E-mail SNL's producer Lorne Michaels at lorne@lornemichaels.com
or call NBC at phone number (212) 664-4444.

In fact, if someone want to "digg" or "reddit" it, that would be great.
Thumbed.
There have been several reports that the McCain campaign has contact SNL about Palin being on the show. They think it will make Palin seem like she's a good sport and in on the joke (when she actually is the joke).
SNL won't say whether or not she's going to be on. Lorne Michaels has stated that he doesn't like to pre-announce a surprise appearance by a politician like this because SNL looks like fools if the person has to cancel like Obama did earlier this fall.
SNL has said though that Palin has an "open invitation."
Here's a link to a story about it: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081009/ap_en_ot/tv_fey_and_palin;_ylt=AjiYD2pWwdAEyWBSwDqYMlOs0NUE
On my blog, I have added a link to an excellent and important article (open letter to John McCain) that is relevant to this.
The "kill him" comments have been confirmed all over the media.
The "kill baby kill" chant has been reported by several people who witnessed the Sarah Palin rallies including a contact of mine who was protesting it. I know I saw a news article on the "kill baby kill" as well and will try to find it again and post the link.
As for the SNL appearance, that was all over the media a day or so ago as well. In a previous comment in this thread, I posted a link to a Yahoo News/AP article about it.

Dear Ms Michaels,
I encourage you not to give Governor Palin access to the airwaves through SNL until she begins to discourage, rather than encourage, the threats of violence that have arisen recently in her rallies. Do not put your show in the position where it could be a contributor to a terrible tragedy in which two little girls might lose their father and America could lose a leader.
I am a Unitarian Universalist and am part of a Fellowship with close ties to the Knoxville congregation that lost two members at least in part due to the influence of hate speech. There is no doubt in my mind that McCain Palin are playing a dangerous game. I urge you not to become a part of it.

McCain mentioned on Letterman today that he thought Palin would appear on SNL. My guess would be this weekend. Keep those calls and e-mails going!
