This site is a two year writing experiment I call "P, B & J" (Prayer, Bible, and Journal) which follows a two year Bible reading plan. (A link to this reading plan is at My Links below.) As I read Bible, I look for an inspirational verse and write about it. These articles are my P, B & J journal entries. I hope you enjoy them. ________________________________ Bible guy, happily married, 7 kids, 1 cool grandkid, Realtor. If you want more, check out "My Story" at My Links below. Dear Friends,

I have come to the end of my regular posts on Open Salon. This was a writing experiment corresponding to a two year Bible Reading Plan.  I call it PB & J (Prayer, Bible, and Journaling). OS posts are my journal entries (the "J" part of PB & J). I started two years ago with the book of Joshua and finished the project with a final entry in Deuteronomy on March 24th.

Thank you "Maffy" (Mary Ann Farley) for introducing me to Open Salon in early 2009.  I love your work.

Besides my family and active real estate practice, I am focusing creative attention toward a ministry with men from my church dealing with destructive addictive patterns.  As a recovering addict, I am passionate about serving in this way. We now have about 100 guys in the program we call 423 Men based on Proverbs 4:23.

I continue to cycle (re-write and edit) these PB & J postings on my Blogger site at Word Travler.  Please come by for a visit. I'd love to hear from you. See links below.

Thank you, my friends.

All the best, Dave. I have enjoyed your posts here, and wish you well on your journey.
Thank you Kathy and Bonnie.
Thank you Dave for being here. People did not always comment but they were reading your posts. I really enjoyed reading your posts and learned from them.
I'll miss your posts, Dave! Sometimes I don't get around to OS for awhile, but I've always been able to count on finding you here when I come back, & always with an enlightening post. Good luck with your program! & take care!
Thank you Suresh. Your are very kind. And, thank you too Suzie. I have always appreciated your positive comments.
Dave,

I am somewhat crushed to learn that I discovered you so late in your stay here at OS. I suspected this was the case, however.

You are a good writer and a good man. I aspire to accomplish in my life what you seemingly have accomplished in yours.

My hope is that you will let your posts stay up for a while. I read further installments as time allows. However, I was never more moved by anyone of your writings than I was just now reading "My Story".

It caused me to think of the centurion who approached Jesus with his plea for help. When Jesus said he would come to the man's house, the centurion responded, "Lord, I am not worthy to receive you, only say the word and I shall be healed." As a former Catholic, my guess is that you know why that verse is so familiar.

The centurion's faith saved him, just as it has you.

Best of luck. My hope is that you and I might run into one another some day.

Yours in Christ,

Chris
I am honored by your very loving words, Chris. Please feel welcome to visit my other Bible blog site anytime at www.wordtraveler.org. There you will find articles, a Bible reading plan, synopsis of the week of Bible reading, and detailed charts of the Bible.

Also, I have every intention of leaving these approximately 520 posts up at Open Salon as long as OS will allow. You can certainly read and comment on any of these posts from the past two years.

What a joy it was to hear that you read and enjoyed "My Story". Thank you, my friend.

Dave:

Sorry I didn't respond to this earlier. I haven't been active on Open Salon for over a year. I wish you all the best on your endeavors!
