In the Norfolk Botanical Gardens, a pair of nesting bald eagles are on live video feed all day and night. The Eagle Cam is wildly addictive to watch. My step-dad turned me on to watching the Eagle Cam and I've gotten everyone at work checking in daily on the bald eagle pair and their nest.
Recently, their chicks hatched. If you miss any of the daily footage, an archive of snapshots is available for viewing.
It is not often that we see bald eagles in the wild and even more rare to watch them as they build a nest and raise their young. Last year's chick had to be removed because an infection with avian pox was threatening the healthy growth of the beak. The chicks from the year before were able to fledge and it was great to watch them standing on the edge of their massive nest, flapping their wings.
