My Review

This is a fantastically written and well acted movie. It kept you on the edge of your seat. And it had an ending. Something lacking as of late in inde and avante garde films.

Not just one ending, but several. None of them predictable. Grace Fulton is one helluva actress. The only problems I had was the wife being pregnant when he killed her. Why have her pregnant? Wasn't the crime henious enough without a fetus dying?

And the use of the Fuck word. Don't get me wrong, my philosophy is "If you can't say it, you can't do it." Having said that, I counted 36 times in less than 2 minutes. Starting at 7 minutes into the movie. I can't even say it that many times that fast.

I tried.

Badland

2007R165 minutes

In this evocative portrait of an Iraq War veteran, Jamie Draven plays Jerry, a once-idealistic Marine reservist who returns home from the Middle East a changed and bitter man. Haunted by the violence he's endured, Jerry mentally collapses. Anger, self-loathing and desperation drive him to commit an unspeakable crime, and now, only his daughter's love can help him piece together his shattered life.

Sounds intriguing. I get tired of hearing the "F" word over and over too, loses its emphasis.
