Vanishing on 7th Street

2010R91 minutes

No one can explain the mystery when residents of a vibrant urban center begin disappearing one by one. But it seems to have something to do with the shadowy figures they come into contact with right before they vanish. Hayden Christensen, Thandie Newton, John Leguizamo, Jacob Latimore and Taylor Groothuis co-star in this independent thriller from director Brad Anderson (Transsiberian, The Machinist).

Ok, no doubt you came  here to see if you should continue to watch this. And I can say, I did that for you and your instincts are correct. A lot of agents were fired on this day. Probably more people than national unfriend day on FB. Excellent cast, great premise. Terrible character developement and plot carry thru. It starts as it ends with no answers, reasons or great AHA. Just people wandering thru the street looking for light and ending where it began. with the ooga booga voices from the other side beckonning. And the actual film was reused depression era celluliod that could carry little if any color. It is as if the story starts, the director says "walk around perplexed." This goes on for x amount of days until the director says, "ok, I need to go make another film so you can all go home now. Your check is in the mail. Don't call me and I won't call you. Bye bye" Sorry. But at least I saved you some time. Hopefully these stars can recoup and be offered real scripts.
