Those Five Little Words

Rate: 16 Flag

Fire, Cloak, Far, Spit, Kiss

You've gone too far.

Do you remember the night

we signed up for Second Life?

I arrived there without clothes.

You gave me your cloak.

We gave our virtual selves time.

You led me to a ring.

I felt your kiss.

Your burning kiss,

our spit eclipsed,

my avatar a'fire.

Howling at the moon over this.....
there's a hush (in my head) when i read this. maybe it's stillness. calm. & i like it.
Love how you matched the song with this!
Uber rated for Ray Charles & Ring of Fire.
What a cool idea, a virtual reality. Is it the word "cloak" that took you there?
A five words hello,
Pink summer inside a writer's trance..
Nice post
scupper,
whoa...this is something. thank you.
Bad ass. In the very best way! (This song used to freak me out when I was a kid -- the Johnny Cash version -- because I didn't know what it meant and the down down down meshed with the hell from my Sunday School class.)
original, memorable: "my avatar a'fire. "
yes, but ' spit ' - what have i missed, scupper ?
avatar a'fire? nice...
Beautiful poem, and so "new milennium." Love the song too. I like the Elvis Costello version as well, though I have seen it maligned on this very site.
Egads! Kim is right. I missed the tasted spit! (Or, can it be implied in the kiss????)
or perhaps the spit turned slow

above your avatar a'fire
perhaps avatar's are dry (dry enough to flame)
OK - this just made me shout out, "HELL YHEA!" ... I don't know what that means, but man did you get a response :)
I'm a little a'fire myself now.
