Open Salon is many things, a writer's nest, a social outlet, a place to vent and dust it up, but for me, it's all about the reading (The Summer of Pink). Like most readers, I'm sure, there are certain writers you just have to keep watch. For example, I'll never forget my literary enjoyment of Frank Indiana's And So It Was Cancer. Each time Frank posted the next installment, I was more than willing to read.
As 2009 ended, I shared a post of blogs that "kept me reading." Of course I couldn't list everything I'd enjoyed as so many writers were impressive, but I attempted to build a list of 2009 posts that had entertained, challenged, and captured my interest.
Now we approach a new year. While, many writers have captivated me in 2010, no writer has held my reading attention more than Divorce Bard. Therefore, I thank you all for writing, but as 2010 closes, I ring a bell celebrating an impressive body of work and the one blog that I read daily:
Divorce Bard - a 2010 journal in verse.
(note- Bard's verse can be read as a single page, but the magic begins in starting at the beginning and reading as a whole.)
Thank you Bard. Happy Reading and Happy New Year.

As for Divorce Bard...that guy is the bomb.
You and the Bard both, scupper!
From the Midwest-- How are you my Carolina friend? Thanks for the AttentionEarthling tip. His blog is still up. Quite impressive!
I'm sure he is missed by many.
Thank you Catch-22 and Scarlet Sumac. Good writers, both!
^R^
Best wishes to everyone for the new year.
Here's to more great writing from you and other friends in 2011.
Funsun, I understand completely. The Bard's blog, as a whole, is so rich, so intimate. Sometimes I can't comment. Nothing is appropriate other than to say I know I've read something close to perfection in verse.
Thank you for this.
(now that the year is finished, i do hope he keeps his diary here, even if in an altered form)
Vanessa, We've probably bumped into each other on our daily DB read. Coffee?
Dave, A worthy addition!
Fusun too, though we know we'll write regardless - comments, rates, or not.
Knowing that each other is here seems to be the most important thing.
What inspires me about DB is his regimen.
His talent, the mode he chose, the experience he's drawing on are all givens. What wasn't given, what he set himself to do and has accomplished, is the part I love. It speaks of dedication and faithfulness - two qualities that impress me immensely.
That it comes in iambics of laughter and tears is cream.
Happy New Year, DB! Thanks for all you shared this year!!
That he shares his work here with us ... glorious! That he shares himself in the way that he does ... humbling and beautiful! An amazing and gifted man ... someone I like to call a dear friend and hope that he doesn't mind that I do.
Thank you, Scupper, for this lovely and generous post.
Happy New Year!
I've got to work out tonight's post, so I'm going to go into hiding for a couple of hours. But scupper, I can't thank you enough, for this post and for an earlier one, where you did the same thing - I remember being blown away then, and I am blown away now. This was such a generous thing to do.
Thank you, and my very best wishes for the new year.
