Scylla the Rock

Scylla the Rock
October 28
Rogue Soldier Bad Cop I always believed in redemption through violence until I became crippled and retired. Now I seek redemption through forgiveness. "...fear, that secret fear that follows every professional to the grave. Namely, that one day, out of a past so complex that he himself could not remember all the enemies he might have made, one of them would find him and demand the reckoning."-LeCarre "Men die and they are not happy"- Camus

St. Crispin's Day- We Happy Few

Rate: 18 Flag

I recite this speech and pray a rosary each St. Crispin's day (25 October)and Veteran's day.  I think of my dead both friend and foe, wish and pray them well.  So if any read this; pray for our fallen and remember our soldiers.

-Saint Crispin's Day Speech-

-Henery V-William Shakespeare-

"From this day to the ending of the world,

But we in it shall be remembered-

We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;

For he today that sheds his blood with me

Shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile,

This day shall gentle his condition;

And gentlemen in England now-a-bed

Shall think themselves accurs'd they were not here,

And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks

That fought with us upon Saint Crispin's Day."

Rest in peace brothers known and brothers unknown.  Please forgive me.

Sancta Maria,

Mater Dei,

Ora pro nobis peccatoribus,

Nunc, et in hora mortis nostrae.

Thinking of you. Thinking of them.
Thank you Veronica and anna1liese. These days so few remember our warriors, less then 1% of our population ever serve under arms. I wish war upon none. My fallen comrades and enemy still come at night and speak. We must end these wars and bring our children home.

My prayers for you and them, Scylla. God speed.
Kate your prayers are fine and welcome. As soldiers we sell ourselves cheap never thinking that age and regret only stain our hands worse then blood. I will pay dearly for those six men and many others.
Peace to those who sleep and those who carry on Scylla.
Joining my thoughts with yours and those who read. And what rita said . . . truly.
In solidarity, Scylla. I hope you find peace.
I've never read this-very moving.
I pray for the military every evening as for the souls in purgatory.
This is great.. I love someone who is not afraid to do something like this and share it with the world.

Those look away with no interest, or claim they are not at fault by default will pay a far higher price than you. Some don't care about the least among us, it must comfort them thinking there is no God and let them enjoy their comfort while they can. There will still be dividing the goats and the sheep, and we are all free to choose our own ways.

I have written the names will pray for them, your family and you. Send the dead where they must go, they should not stay with you it's not how it is written, please don't give up and send them on. Much Love to you.
Peace to you and to the honored dead.
Rememberance..a unique gift to the and remembering, I see you as having paid your debt, the best you knew how. Peace to you and there's a classic song I like about death and it says,"comfort and befriend us"..God takes over once those we love cross over..
Simply beautiful, Scylla and such a perect selection from Shakespeare~R.
For the first time I'm going to try and reply to comments. The time difference between Hawaii and the mainland makes it difficult. Usually I just let the post go and speak...

-Black Boots, thank you for reading and rating.

-rita, I pray and yet we know that tunnel is long and dark for we who endeavor to persevere. Thank you.

-Owl, we do owe these souls; a prayer or at least a moment of thought. Thank you.

-Janice, thank you for reading, I still cry as I recite the speech.

-patricia, thank you for the thoughts and prayers. You're a grand lass(I have a daughter of the same name, I call her Patri)

-Linda, thank you a grand day for hugs.

-l'heure, thank you so much we need the prayers.

-sixty, thank you I do so pray for their peace.

-cindy, were that I were a better man someday I might pay my debt and wash the blood from my hands and soul. Thank you.

-Sarah C., beautiful name...thank you.
May peace be with you, Scylla.
Just thinking of you today, hoping it is a good one filled with much love.
Love and Peace to you,
L'Heure Bleue
Irishpie-thank you so much, I appreciate the grand thoughts.

l'heure bleue-thank you dear, though in truth it has been a crappy day filled with doctors and pain and blood and shitty news. I keep my head up and endeavor to persevere. Your thoughts do strengthen me and Sarah and are indeed wonderful.
Ya gotta look at it this way, who's worse off? Really.
But don't dwell on it, it'll eat ya. They're on the other side praying for us.
This is powerful and I can sense your emotion as you convey it to us all. We are better for it.
And I am going to print it out and learn it so I can recite it when I pray.
rita and l'heure said it
sorry I am so late, I missed this
from the space in my mind where there was honor in being a soldier I salute you Scylla, and will remember your dead
Love to you and yours, dear one.

I respect any and all who served. Only those who have gone in harm's way should be allowed to decide if our children should be risked in the same way.
A beautiful tradition that honors and supports love.

As you ever are... beautiful, dark and deep as a pond full of hidden life. Thank you for sharing these beautiful words and thoughts. I don't read Shakespeare enough. It's time to go back.
