My son, a classmate and his brother visiting from the states took a trip in late March to Salzburg, Austria, Munich and Gudensburg Germany, as part of their seven week break.

This where you pick up a carriage ride. In 2001 we took the kids on one because it was raining in the city that day. They had lots of fun. The Fiaker, as they are called can be expensive, some people negotiate the price. Under the arches at that same visit, we had a street artist do a sketch of our children, which is fantastic.

I would love to sit down with you and look at pictures sometime.

When were these taken?
Gabby: Yes, things were just starting to bloom. It has been raining there a lot since, so I imagine there are many beautiful spring flowers now.
Fusun: Yes, I was working on the captions when it self published. I had it open and was editing it and somehow you were all able to see the original piece. Makes no sense to me. However, hope you came back and checked it out after the captions were published.
Lea: Yes, these were taken in March of this year. I started working on this over the weekend, then got sidetracked, and somehow this morning while I was open and editing this, it was still possible for people to comment. Very strange.....
This slowness is so maddening when you have a beautiful post like this
Don't I wish I were able to visit Europe.
Thank you for posting this.
Julie: Thanks for stopping by. I have more to show, so I will try and do some more this week. I like to just look at the picture blogs sometime!!!
scanner: I have thought the same thing. I actually know the Mirabell Gardens pretty well, the last time I was there our hotel was right behind it, you cut through a wooded area and you were right there. The thing is all of that was manicured and perfect and everyone just passed through it on their way to the next place....so pretty.
Monsieur Chariot: Yes, visit. Salzburg has been referred to as being the Baroque jewel of Europe. I think that people appreciate all the history and buildings, the thing is the movie, The Sound of Music also made it more famous. There is so much to see there, it would easily be a destination on its own. You can fly into Zurich and take a smaller plane to the Salzburg Airport. We actually did that, you fly right in the Alps that way, it is wonderful!!!
I'm a sucker for travel photos...
