Fashion Icon Spotted in Flip-Flops and Black Socks

Rate: 8 Flag

Bryan Ferry, the dapper frontman of the popular British band Roxy Music, was recently spotted in cutoffs, flip-flops and black socks. The usually besuited Ferry, aged 65, was seen last week strolling the aisles of a Walmart outside of Spokane, Washington, filling his cart with corndogs and discount motor oil.

This Man Was Born in a 3-Piece Suit

"I couldn't believe it was him," said Marcus Jamison, 35 of Kingston, WA. "I'm a big fan of his work with Roxy Music, as well as his solo stuff. He's always dressed so nicely. I actually did a double take. I mean, it was definitely odd to see him without a suit on. I didn't really mind the black socks and flip-flops, but I do have to wonder if the belly shirt was a good idea".

Witnesses said in addition to the cutoffs and flip-flops, Ferry was also sporting a shirt that had been cut in half, exposing his midsection and belly.

"It was pretty startling," Michelle Phillips, 42 of Spokane, WA, said. "Don't get me wrong, he's still an extremely attractive man. I mean, there really are very few people who can pull of the flip-flop/black sock combo. I'd say he's definitely one of those who can. Plus, he obviously likes corndogs, so that goes pretty far with me."

Ferry first tasted fame in the 1970's as leader and chief songwriter of Roxy Music, scoring several top ten hits and three number one albums. In 1983, Ferry left the band for a successful solo career, which is still thriving today. He is consistantly named on several Best Dressed lists.

The Ferry sighting was only the most recent uproar in the fashion world. Last month, designer Michael Kors was spotted in an "I'm With Stupid" t-shirt and bermuda shorts, and earlier this year, Tommy Hillfiger and members of 80's band Spandau Ballet were seen sporting polyester leisure suits.

I'm sorry, but no one can pull off flip-flops and black socks. I don't care how big you were in the 80s.
Bourgeois, to the max.
Mabel - He's Bryan Ferry. It just happens. He still has the classiest toes in the business.
Oh Bryan, slave to love... and fashion.
Flip flops are my nemesis. Not so much the socks. Maybe he had a boo boo on his bog toe and needed open toe and covered.
