Shocking news out of Hollywood today that the new Julia Roberts movie Eat Pray Love will feature a scene in which the 43-year-old star laughs.

Since becoming a star with the 1990 hit Pretty Woman, Roberts has long been seen as an extremely serious actress who has never even cracked a smile in any of her films.
"Roberts has never been known to laugh in any of her movies," said film critic Rex Reed. "So, this is a true breakthrough for her and a true gift to her fans. As far back as I can remember, there has never been a scene where she has laughed, chuckled or guffawed, so I'm really looking forward to this new side of America's Sweetheart."
Roberts first gained notice for her uber-serious performance in Mystic Pizza, about a woman who can predict the future with the aid of a large Meat Lovers. Since then, she was gone on to star in such acclaimed dramas as America's Sweetheart (about a lawyer/nurse who needs a new heart), Runaway Bride (a period drama about a matchmaker working on the Underground Railroad), and My Best Friend's Wedding (a film set in the Warsaw Ghetto during WWII). Fans were entranced by each of these films and their lack of laughing scenes.
Diane Clarkson, a fan from Brussellwhite, MI, is especially looking forward to this new side of Julia Roberts. "I have to say, I can't even recall even seeing her smile, so I'm very intrigued. I can't wait to hear what her laugh sounds like! I bet she has really pretty teeth."
Reed went on to say that there is also a very good chance for another Roberts first: a montage of her trying on hats.

Bea should have laughed more. Might not have needed to take it out on you so much. That ball gag was over the top.
