- Bio
- I have carried on a love affair with words and books since I was a very young child.
I am a writer, working towards getting published this year. I particularly enjoy writing about nature, philosophy and life as I see it.
I am a voracious reader! I instilled a love of reading and writing in my daughters and I hope to find a way to do the same for other children in my lifetime. We have become a society of instant gratification and many children spend their time playing video games and rarely pick up a book. I find this very sad, because books open the door to the world..

Just breathe........
There are so many things that are exciting about the prospect of green transportation; independence from foreign oil, which would be a major accomplishment our country, and no long lines or high prices to deal with when you need to travel somewhere.. But to me the most exciting part of it… Read full post »

Valentine's Day
Why Do We Do This To Ourselves?
How can a compassionate, loving, passionate woman find fault with Valentine's Day? Who could possibly find anything to criticize about a day set aside to show love and affection? It's easier than I thought...

ABC - The Family Channel?
ABC's Family Values?
I just finished reading an interesting news article about ABC. The writer questioned
ABC's family values, particularly relevant in a television station which incorporates the word
“family” into it's name. They wondered whether shows like “The Secret Life Of… Read full post »
What We've Lost
I grew up in a world where a person's word was enough to forge a
deal; where his handshake meant something.
People had values that they embraced. Their families – and
extended families – were of the utmost importance to them,
and life revolved around spending time with them.
Many people… Read full post »
Legacy
I miss my mother.
She's been gone 7 years
seems like 20, seems like yesterday...
I used to think I would see her again
in some heavenly afterlife,
dancing with my father,
their faces radiant with love....
But god does not exist,
nor… Read full post »
In my dreams....
I was happy in my role of
wife, mother, homemaker, gardener,
nurturer, companion, creator of meals
prepared with love,
nature-lover, friend, fixer of broken shoestrings
and finder of lost belongings...
Until the day I found myself believing that
Youth and Age
Youth and Age
I was 45 when I met him; he was 29. I was torn between feeling exhilarated by the age difference, and being very wary of it. Men think nothing of being decades older than a woman; despite some changes in our society, older women are… Read full post »
Living With Heart
We all know that our country is in a perilous state; unemployment, insanely high gas prices, an inexcusable dependence on oil and an over-dependence on credit, an unprecedented number of foreclosures and bankruptcies...
The question is, what are you and I going to do about it?
If you are… Read full post »
An American Nightmare - A Journey into Economic Despair
AN AMERICAN NIGHTMARE
One woman's journey into economic despair
In the 1980's and early 90's I lived what I grew up considering a Middle Class life; my husband and I married in 1982, our first daughter was born in 1984 and our second followed in 1987. Prior to the… Read full post »
