The greatest invention of the 21st century is the fuel cell technology. Although fuel cell technology can be traced back to the early 20th century, it wasn’t recently that people have put more effort into developing fuel cells. Fuel cells will play the biggest impact in the way we live our lives during the 21st century and long after. It will change our way of life in almost every aspect.
Fuel cell technology is the technology that develops electricity naturally by separation of electrons. Fuel cell technology is categorized by what types of fuel cells they use. For example the most popular type of fuel cell right now is Phosphoric Acid; yet types of fuel cells are quickly being developed that will be more efficient and one day can be supplied at lower costs, such as Molten Carbonate and Sulfuric Acid. Fuel cells have many types of advantages compared to traditional way of producing power. One of the biggest advantages is that it produces energy with no pollution. Therefore, cars are going to be powered by fuel cells and won’t produce pollution. Another advantage is the types of fuel needed to power fuel cells. The most popular types of fuel cells are powered by very inexpensive fuels such as natural gas. This will allow automakers and homeowners to power their cars and electricity needs with very little expense. Also, fuel cell technology produces power at extremely higher efficiency compared to traditional ways of producing power. For example, the gasoline that powers vehicles produce less than 25% efficiency fuel to power, but fuel cell technology can be as high as 85% efficient.
Fuel cells will change the way of life. They will make it possible for everyone to use electricity and other electric devices with very little electricity expense. Most important, fuel cells will help the environment and the future for generations to come. Fuel cells will have a large impact in our lives because it will make us independent from crude oil supplied from foreign countries. Imported crude oil plays a major role in our economy. Fuel cells will change all that in many ways. People worldwide will not have to worry about the price of the gasoline since gasoline will no longer be needed. Fuel cells will change the way everyone commutes, whether it’s just a short drive to work or a long vacation, it will be easy and affordable for everyone to go anywhere.
Fuel cell is the biggest and most important invention of the 21st century. It will make everyone’s life better in many ways. It will help the environment, it will make the cost of power less expensive, and it will make foreign crude oil a thing from the past. That is why fuel cell is the greatest invention of the 21st century.
