Bio
Nearly 30 years in the middle school biz...hope to graduate one of these days! Have taught English, choral music, drama, computer applications and just about anything else you can imagine. Oh, and how can I forget publications...I'm responsible for the yearbook and the school newspaper. Also did a stint as the librarian. Wide ranging interests and a long-time Salon addict. Two kids, two grandsons and a dog round out the picture! Originally from Marin (go figure) but 32 years at Tahoe has definitely spoiled me. To quote Nora Ephron, "I feel bad about my neck."

That 70s Show

I can't believe the first post I've produced in two months is a picture of me with "Farrah-esque" hair.  I obviously didn't have quite the volume she had, but was going for that look, lo those many years ago!

Gorgeous! You had the whole look ... a little of all three, you Angel you!
If it were blonde, it would be close! A little bit more J Smith.
I think you look like that woman on 3's Company - the one who wasn't Suzanne Somers (never watched it, but have seen her pic a lot).
Thank you all...

Yes, Stellaa, hot rollers indeed. My old standby forever. After I'd given up on using orange juice cans...I have wavy hair and growing up in the age of long, straight hair was traumatic. When the "fuller" styles of the 70's and 80's came along, it was easier on my hair/image!

Note the teacher/apple stickpin. What a hoot. This was a publicity photo; I was running for queen of the snow festival that year.
Awesome picture, M! But what I really want to hear about is this: I was running for queen of the snow festival that year. What a great opening line!
love the hair! love the fancy blouse! It was a good look, really. Much better than the Gumby bangs of the late 80's!
Oh My God a stick pin!
Did you have one of those clutchy koalas that people wore on their lapels?
I don't know what's up with the outfit, adam ant, but you sure have perfect hair!
The age of innocence!
I had the same -- curly Farrah (done with hot rollers) as opposed to feathery Farrah. Nice!
Beautiful! I had totally forgotten about my mom's box of hot rollers until I read your comments...I was a curling iron gril, myself.
You have some very fabulous feathering going on there!
I envy you for your beautiful long shiny hair. I started using Wigs long time ago because I have a natural rare, thin hair and I cannot arrange him in such a beautiful coiffure like yours. I think this coiffure will suit me and I will search a wig with a "Farrah-esque" hair full of volume.
