We became friends when she made a comment on one of my posts where I referred to my late hours, saying she was the same. We PMed. We shared a need to dance. She spoke about dancing in the darkest part of the night and bringing life to it, a beguiling image. She said she sometimes had to get up early to go to work and she was tired, but she would not give up her art time, her dance time.
Roy Jimenez, his wife, and I joined her and her friend for dinner in San Francisco on her birthday. She lives in Santa Rosa, but she managed to find the best, hippest, cheapest place to eat in my own neighborhood. She said she kept up with restaurant reviews although she couldn't afford to eat in restaurants very often. There is a power in someone who can do that without envy or bitterness, just curiosity.
She spoke about her curiosity. She said she was born in the year of the rat and had the animal's curious and burrowing nature. She said that she cleaned houses and often found junk food in them. She never bought it for herself, but she always tasted it in her employers house, just a little nibble, closing the package and leaving no trace of her explorations.
She was playful, funny, spiritual and sexy. I want to have more of her. I hope others share stories.

All my best wishes to her family & friends
Thanks for sharing this with us....it's nice to get a more personal accounting of people we've only known as virtual friends....it makes her time here more real and meaningful. You describe her exactly as I'd imagined.
She was nice and oh so funny and she had an edge that I liked. And this is the biggest lesson always for me, she lived life on her terms even if she didnt get to eat out as much as she wanted, she was pretty much self actualized.
I'm sad and I'll miss her.
Today, for me, it is the sorrow.
I have no stories so thank you for this Sirenita. All I have is the memories of her positiveness and playfulness. Always a joy....
i was most impressed, and was inspired to look
up the word dakini.
I went to my favorite Book of Mythology &
found it means a tantic princess, embodying
the spirit of Kali...
Kali.....
Like western witches
dakinis held their meetings in cemetarys and
cremation grounds, having charge of
preparation of the dead body...
I'd rather look at it like this: dakinis in the air,
beware, but dont fret
they will not ge you until you let them.....
and when you are ready for the dakini in yr life, go and find her
flow....
Bless her. Jim
